  1. Reinstalling Windows 10 on my brother new computer because it is currently 32bit and he needs 64bit. My question is when I go to make the USB drive to boot from it gives me an option between "Windows 10, Window 10 Home single Language, and Windows 10 N". On his computer he is using the Windows 10 Home so not sure if I am suppose to get the single language or just the window 10.
  2. Yes the 6pin was pluged into the GPU and the Mobo only has 1 PCI-e slot
  3. My mother wanted to get a new computer, she bought a pre built one from best buy that has a intel-i5 in it and wanted to put a R7 250x into it. She only uses it to play World of Warcraft and some Minecraft. But when she put the video card in and connected it to the monitor it says "no signal". I have tried going into the Bios and video option setting to PEG, or PCI-E (came with IGE or somthing like that default). I have tried booting in Safe Mode to see if it might be a driver issue. The video card has power. The fan comes on and what not. I just can't get it to display I have tried it with HDMI, VGA, and DVI cables just can't seem to get to work. Is there any way to know if the PCI-E is broken? It looks fine but just won't work. P.S. I put the card in my PC and it works fine so I know the card is doing good. It has to be something with her new computer.
  4. Yeah I was going to install Windows on my New SSD and just use my HDD for other stuff like pics and a few games since the SSD is only 250gb and the HDD is 1TB. Do I need to Format the HDD or will it work without doing that?
  5. Off these Christmas sells I got myself a new Mobo and CPU, I'm using AMD atm and upgraded to Intel 4790k. I'm keeping my HDD (even tho I got a new SSD too for Windows and stuff) I'm just new to upgrades. I'm not sure if I need to do anything to my current HDD so it don't screw with the upgrade.
  6. Anyone know somewhere I could buy Windows 7 or 8.1 or even 10 for like $50 or so?
  7. So I'm doing a few upgrades on my current computer. Atm i'm using an AMD fx 8320 CPU with a R9 280 video card. I been wanting to move over to intel and a few days ago a friend of mine said he had a new motherboard that he don't need. it is the MSI Z97 PC Mate LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard So now i'm picking between the I7 and I5 but I keep reading the I7 isn't worth $100 more for what you get out of it. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Also idk if that motherboard even supports the I7 it is the 1150 slot so i guess it does I'm new to all this lol.
  8. So I shouldn't need the Windows activation key?
  9. So if I don't have a disc or anything I'm fucked?
  10. It will pull that page up and then restart and do it again and again and again the whole time it is up. Can't get into safe mode only Bios I rly need help on this.
  11. So i have an Acer laptop (idk make or model) I was selling the laptop so I went on it to restore it to remove all my personal info when I did that. It was at 1% for about 3 hours then restarted when it restarted it went to the Acer page it pulls up right b4 loading Windows. I can't get it to go into safe mode from pressing F8 or shift F8 while it is booting. I can only get into the Bios. I know just a little about computer but am at a full lose on how to fix this. Was suppose to met the guy to sell at Noon tomorrow and I work all night. So unless I can get help here I'm out $150 and a laptop. It used Windows 8.1 when purchased it about 8 months ago I upgraded to Windows 10. Side note- Windows 10 has caused me nothing but problems, When I upgraded my desktop to windows 10 I got a Blue screen and had to revert back to windows 8.1 now I keep getting errors and blue screens on the desktop.
  12. Unless I am able to download the drivers on my Laptop and burn them to a disc, I can't download them my internet won't connect.
  13. My Motherboard is a MSI AMD 990FXA Gaming, Idk if I need the drivers for the Ethernet to work, if so can you download the drivers and place them onto a DVD disc? I recently Moved houses and lost some stuff in the process and the Motherboard drivers is one of them things.
  14. So I made a post earlier today http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/422693-windows-10-broke-my-computer/ I reinstalled Windows 8.1 from the Installation Media Tool to a disc and reinstalled it. However, now I have NOTHING! ! I don't even have a File Explorer or My computer w/e it is called. When I go into the Control Panel it says I have nothing installed. However I can pull up Paint, Notepad, and a few other programs. I didn't install Motherboard drivers(I dont' have the disc any more) and it seems my Ethernet cable stopped working so I also didn't have internet. IDK what is happening but I rly need this PC fixed.
