Would overclocking help...

So I have a 3570K at the stock 3.4GHz with the stock cooler, since my case is awesome though, it pretty much always turbos to 3.7Ghz, however when I say watch the WAN show while playing a game, it RUINS my FPS I go from 75 FPS to 30 FPS and I don't know why, however I was guessing it was my CPU.  If I got a cooler and OC'ed my CPU to say 4.4 Ghz would that help?

Yes, overclocking is always better. The FPS drop could be because of your GPU, but overclocking will increase overall performance.

I have a GTX 760 and hold the 60Hz of my monitor on the WAN show.

Sure it will help, just do voltage manually and turn off turbo boost and all of that power saving jazz.

Oh, I kind of assumed that playing a twitch stream wouldn't strain my GPU enough to cut my FPS in half.

Sure it will help, just do voltage manually and turn off turbo boost and all of that power saving jazz.

but do you think that is what is causing me to lose FPS?

i don't believe your CPU is the issue. the GPU seems to be the named culprit

since your streaming video feed and game play seem to be affected simultaneously.

even if the CPU were tweaked 20% improvement to up FPS 30% you still are in the

hole on FPS. what kind of load is your GPU seeing while these happenings are

going on?

Something with the GPU, like @airdeano said.

I also don't think your CPU is the culprit.  Maybe there is something running in the background that is eating up RAM or CPU usage.

Run some anti-maleware and check your RAM and CPU usage to see what is being utilized.

I will check next time this happens, what is a good way to see your gpu load?

No, I run malware scans all the time and I am very careful about that stuff.

@minimoose

GPU-Z is small and not memory intensive. has a min/max toggle and histogram

Thanks! I guess if the GPU is the issue there isn't much I can do about that :(. Maybe the GTX 880 really will be cheaper.

You buy a K version to overclock it.  Do it.

While gaming did you check your CPU temperatures? The reason your dropping from 75 to 30 FPS is probably due to your CPU getting to hot. Either way it will help.

No, the Stock cooler is not designed for overclocking at all.

While people will not recommend it you just need to monitor your temps properly and aim for a reasonable overclock.  I see people mentioning turbo speed 3.8 GHz and even 4 GHz on the net but in those threads where they talk about this they say monitor temps closely. Still with how affordable CM Hyper 212 series coolers are just get one of those and have some safe fun.

About the Hyper 212 EVO that everyone suggest, remember to check the max CPU heatsink height supported by your case, EVO is 158mm / 6.22 inch.
