Someone told me Gigabyte uses lower quality things for their motherboards and GPU's , is this true? if so how low is the quality and if not does that mean the quality things they use are the same as all other brands or are some brands better quality than others? and if the answer is no to certain brands being better is it just the level which determines the quality such as Z97 being highest quality and then B motherboards and then H motherboards being cheapest?

Yes some brands are higher quallity than others... IMO

you have Asus at the top end with there Republic of Gamers stuff and then cheaper ASRock boards that do the job but not good enough if your wanting to do things like overclock.

Ok whats the ranking quality wise? and does quality matter if not planning on overclocking?

Cheap boards from manufacturer a are as bad as ones from manufacturer b. There's no secret sauce that makes a £50 Asus much higher quality than a £50 gigabyte.

The difference lies in validation, software and drivers.

I've used boards from pretty much everyone but MSI (no reason) and they're all fine.

My preference is for Asus as I know and quite like some of their software.

Best way is to check boards in your price bracket, compare the features/chipsets (audio etc) and whatnot and also poke around reviews.

I'm getting really tired of this ''asrock is not good'' shit.

Back the f*ck up your argument.

I don't need to I see enough forum posts about it. Also they don't use all solid caps yet. They are sod all VRM cooling. they use a shitty 4+1 power phase and that's just crap for OCing. All I need to know, also note I said "IMO".

they also bloat there website with nonsense claims "super sound this... turbo that" all ballocks.

I just saw ASRocks news mobos and they are still not using all solid caps and 4+1 phases.

Do they?

My motherboard is from 2012 and has 8+3 power phase. ASrock extreme4 has 8 power phases, extreme 6 has 12 power phases etc.etc.

Idk,are you comparing a $60 asrock motherboard with $300 rog board? Every motherboard manufacturer has some motherboards with 4 power phases.

And don't forget all these mobos come from the same OEM,Foxconn

All mobo manufacturers have their lower end and higher end boards. And the stuff between them. Asus has ROG anf TUF, Gigabytes X- and Gaming-series plus OC ones. MSI has their M-series and Gaming-series. AsRock has weirdest. I think Pro is med level, Extreme is bit higher and Professional is highest.

As for which is best. Everyone has good and bad things. You'd need really in depth search to find out whether board you'll get has everything you need and works well.

Personally I've had no end of trouble with gigabytes boards but not from the quality but the software end to the point that the oem software will BSOD on start up.

When building/upgrading a PC i generally stick with MSI/ASUS.

I generally stick to MSI nowadays. I have bad experience with Gigabyte once but that was very long ago... High likely they already improved a lot. My friend is using Gigabyte so far didnt heard any issue from him. I used to own Asus Z77V-LK for my ivybridge build, it is a very bad mobo. I had intermittent issue with the PCI-e, the DIMM slot is very fragile (though that is more on my fault than the board itself)... the utility suite is next to useless for me...

That is just my experience... yours and others will definitely vary...
