Tablet disconnecting from router

Hi

I recently bought the Archos Titanium 80 and it is refusing to stay connected to my router. the router is a Thomson adsl modem/router combo (wifi b/g) that I got from plusnet (uk isp) it is from ~2010 and I haven't had the problem before with any other devices. I have used a very similar router somewhere else and my phone kept disconecting, so I am tempted to say that it is the router.

If anyone has had the problem or knows a fix, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

I would throw that router in the bin and get a new one even a cheap N 150 would do it

The archos supports wireless N but your router doesnt, so maybe there is some sort of conflict? Perhaps log into your router and choose a different channel, there might be lots of interference

This could be happening for various reasons.

Did you try to reboot the router? It helps sometimes that the router plays crazy if it was not rebooted for a longer period of time.

Try to assign a static IP address to your tablet. Maybe its a DHCP issue.

It could be the end of life for your router too...

PS. what is the exact router model?

It is a Thomson tg585

I tried rebooting it several times, but that didn't work.

There seems to be a manufacturing problem with it, I will contact my isp and ask them to send us a new one, if not I might investigate PowerLine or attaching a new one via ethernet as that seems to have no problem.

I will try to do the fixes when I get home in a couple of days.

Thanks for your help.
