What does the operating system support mean in GPU?

Go to solution Solved by dragoon20005,

the gpu will work with win 8 and 8.1

no worries

AMD drivers support all OS

I was looking at PowerColor R9 270X Graphics card and it has system requirements + operating system support.

If it supports Windows 7 Home Basic, Windows 7 Home Basic X64 and Windows 7 Home Premium, I shouldn't have any problem at all with Windows 8.1?

Sorry for the trouble :(

Generally that means those are the drivers on the disk that ships with the GPU.  It is far better to check with AMD to get teh drivers though.

just go onto amd's website and see what operating system the drivers are compatible with.

I have an r9 270x and windows 8.1.  I am happy to tell you the latest AMD drivers do work perfectly fine with Windows 8.1.
