This should fit in your budget, but since prices are dumb, this may not.

I sacrificed a precious SSD for performance with this build.

Dear everyone,

I am new to PC building and I would love to build my own pc.

I did a little bit of research and I can't decide if I should go for AMD or Intel. I would prefer the PC to be further upgradeable in the future. A nice case would also be nice. ( the one I picked isn't very nice)

I have around 550-700 euros to spend. ( I already have a monitor, mouse, keyboard etc.)

I have made the following configuration so far:

GPU:             MSI R9 270X Gaming G2                         180,-
Processor:    AMD FX-6300                                           95,-
PSU:             Corsair CMPSU-500CX                             54,-
Case:            Zalman ZM-Z1                                          30,-

Mobo:           ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0                            59,-

hdd:              500gb hdd                                               43.-
ram:              Kingston ValueRAM 8 GB DDR3-1600    78.-

Total 539.-

I am not sure if I should go for the AMD-FX-8350 instead.. Or if I should get an SSD. Or if I should wipe the build and go with an i5 processor?

Or maybe one of you guys can give me a complete different build.
I would love to hear from you!

Going to I5 over an FX-6300 will double your cost most likely on the CPU alone. The mobo will also become a bit more expensive. If you want some more performance I would sooner suggest upping the PSU a bit so you can OC the FX-6300 or get a slightly better graphics card like a 280X.

SSD is all down to personal preference. It will make stuff on it load faster yeah but a patient man will not need windows to start in 10 seconds.

Edit: To OC you prolly need a slightly better motherboard too btw, but not by much.

Edit 2: Also for the case I could recommend an Aerocool VS-3 Advance, it's what I have and it has room for 2 fans on the side panel. I'm a big fan of side panel fans :D. Does very well for cooling.

500GB hdd...lol

I have a 1TB hdd and 2x250GB Ssds.....

get at least a 1TB Wd black

He said his budget is 550-700. Not 1000 don't be so condescending.

He is right on the HDD though. 1 TB HDD's only cost 50 euro's here so it should be about the same price there. Very cheap but lots of storage you could consider that.

Thank you for the suggestions, any suggestion on a better motherboard?

thought about going for an 8320? its just a lower clocked 8350.

Thank you! That will save me 30 euros!

Uh, when you go AMD (and therefore, overclock), you really should get an aftermarket cooler.

30 dollars/euro isn't that big of an investment to keep your CPU a bit cooler and push more performance out of it.

The one @PokémonTrainerFour suggested is an excellent motherboard.

I don't suggest getting the 1866 memory though. The extra cost is not really worth the extra frequency but if you deem the cost increase insignificant enough I would say go for it.

The case is always something you also shouldn't really skimp on. If you don't mind paying a little extra for it your case can be future-proof in terms of airflow and cooling potential for quite a while. The Corsair C70 is an incredibly solid case. Lots of space for case fans (2 side, 2 top for water cooling radiator in the future), 2 intake, all in all very solid.

The price increase was like $6, for lower CAS and higher frequency, so the RAM will be slightly faster anyway.

OP could always switch colors if need be as well, that might bring down the price somewhat.

Then it's fine. Over here ram is iffy as hell :D so I didn't know. Also internet is slow where I currently am so I cannot go rushing off to sites to compare.

My internet's slow too, but since I have a go-to brand (G.Skill), it sort of balances since I always look for the same thing :D

I can see prices anywhere but USA's be iffy as hell. Budget suddenly slips my mind when I work on helping out Aussies.
