No, they won't charge you anything. Scan UK sell the card and it comes with a code I believe and then you can go on AMD's site and choose the games you want. You won't be charged for the game.

 

I don't know the exact process of redeeming the games, but it is something similar to that.

So looking at gpus on scan and the r9 290 is £295 it says that you get to choose 3 free games. Is that true or are they just scamming me then charging me for the games? And is there also on option to not get the games and just get the card if thats the case?

Thats right, AMD have been doing this for like a year or longer

 

cheap cards only 1 game, mid range 2 and expensive cards get 3 games , you pick from a list of about 20 games

well never settle bundle you only get if the supplier has stock... I never got mine and bought a R9 290 asus edition card

Think AMD have been doing the never settle bundle since 2010, remember when I purchased my 6950 I got deus ex with it, think at the time it was the option between shogun 2 and Deus Ex.
