How much data do you use?

minimoose

I only have 500MB of Data on my plan (Thanks Canada - though some plans are now offering more). I probably only use about 250MB per month though, as all I do is check/read email and facebook, with the occasional web browsing. Little to no video.

I am looking at 500Mb, so it sounds like it would be enough for me, unlike some other people in this thead

Yeah I can only imagine that people who use that much data on their mobile are watching a ton of video. I watch all my video on a big screen like the computer or my 50" TV. I read when I'm on the bus or something, and when I listen to music, it's stored locally on the phone. I would use Spotify or SoundCloud on my phone if I didn't have to worry about that 500MB Data cap, but even in that case I wouldn't go over a couple gigs.

I think I read that 500Mb of data is about 12 hours of spotify at 96hz.  So, if you listened for a couple hours a month you could squeeze by.

Oh, I thought you could only use 3G/4G for and LTE was just for show.  Showoff.   Why not do it all over Wifi?  How much proper do you use?

Nah, LTE is still a thing. ~2.5MB/s usually. I don't use wifi because 1. It'd saturate my own home network more. 2. I've got unmetered data anyway. 3. Not sure what you mean by proper?

PC = ~10GB a month.

Phone = 2.5GB of my 3GB.

Do most people have metered connections? Because in California you never hear a home Internet connection having a data cap.

AHHHHHHH LUCKYYYYYYY.  I live in a place with a huge University might be on the west coast of the US.  So there is a chance I could get Google Fiber, the school wants it.

Me too right now.  I am getting a One M7 really soon and I am deciding how much I will let my self use on Ting.

I want to get an M7 or iPhone 5S through Ting, but I saw the Apple section, with nothing in it.

Amazon has phones which are sold by dealers but fufilled by them (which means it is garranteed to be new and with a warranty and from a good dealer) for much cheaper than Ting's store. As long as it is a sprint phone you can use it with sprint, except the iPhone 5s I believe iPhone 5 and down work. But on Amazon HTC One's are like $340 and iPhone 5 $360 new with Sprint. Let me know if you need a link.
