I need help in finding a good, safe, reliable web hosting site that is free and allows for commercial transactions/sales on the site you create.  Anyone know of such a thing?  It has been ages since I created a webpage and definitely not very good at it but I am willing to put some time into it as I was looking at my life and if I don't pick up skills, take a risk and get more educated I am not going anywhere.  I had wanted to do various things off a website and decided this is the week I will start.  Any help is appreciated here.  Btw I am in Canada.

I know it is not free but GoDaddy Canada is having a really good sale on things.  How reliable are they and how easy is it to get a commercial site up and running with them?  (small business)  Also what is the usual minimum cost to run a small web business anyway?

What about the economy option?

yeah... I really wouldn't go with Godaddy, firstly, you dont wanna get stuck in their ecosystem now while you still have a chance and secondly Godaddy is like the worst company ever, possibly even worse than EA!  :o

They have given out people's paypal, scammed people, ripped off people, told personal information, not done what people have asked and Godaddy tries to cover up all of the horrible things they have done.   If all you want to do is get website hosting, I guess you could but I am saying now, I would not recommend doing so with Godaddy.

I use One.com first year is completely free with just a £10 set-up fee(~$18). With that you get a .com, .co.uk, .org or .net domain.

Then after the year its only just over £1 a month (~$1.80)

Thats for a 15GB hosting space.

They support wordpress installation so you can setup a shop using an e-commerce addon in wordpress

Yeah, its a great web hosting service and as well as WordPress they have a web editor, blog and photo gallery facility so you can set up any sort of site you wish. Plus you can have a few subdomains for free as well
