4k or 1080p

Go to solution Solved by dragoon20005,

Yea I just read Tom's Hardware review, they say its not really good for gaming.

early 4k run at 30fps

the standard refresh rate is 60Hz

the Asus PB287Q 4K is a good buy but still you need a really beefy hardware to run 4K

so far only cards like the 295X2 can run 4k res

for three 1080P screens

you can use single R9 290 or dual for better fps

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Those cards are a little expensive.....lol

1440 as a main then two 1080 as random watching mointors.

I like that idea, I might look into that...Thanks.

You really can't compare three 1080 monitors to 4k

Your gaming experience is going to be vastly different, and the required hardware to run 4k is leaps and bounds more restrictive.

And I realize that, I was just wondering what kind of setup you'd be looking at to run a 4k smoothly gaming system.

If you've previously won the build off please pm me so we can get something worked out.

Not with a monitor. Honestly if you're worried about budget, right now 4k is not for you.

Dell has the 24" but it more costly than the 28"

I think I will stick with 1440 or 1080 for now...and wait a little while for 4k monitors to drop or come out with at least a 120Hz.

instead of getting a triple monitor setup why not consider 21:9 34" 1440p panel?

Because on my last computer I had it hooked up to a 32" 1080p tv, and I could hardly (if at all) see the lines in excel....plus the price....I'm getting 3 23" monitors and an triple bracket for under 500 dollars.

1080p on a 27" looks terrible let alone a 32" TV.

Yeah, we're all just a bunch of idiots experiencing nothing more than the placebo effect.

I'm gonna cast my vote for 2.5K (1440p). It's going to cost less to get a system that can run games at 60fps in 1440p, rather than paying a ton for 4K and possibly having to settle for fewer fps.

Once 4K setups get cheap it will be a worthwhile investment imo, just not yet.

Git Gud.
