Week old PC won't boot

Go to solution Solved by agw,

try changing power supply , or try the g skill on your pc and see if they are the faulty ones

I don't have a spare PSU atm, the G.Skills bluescreen my system on cold boot.

Try to reinstal bios it will reset everything

Cleared CMOS, removed the BIOS battery, both didn't work.

I'm probably assuming the GPU may be borked if it's not sending a signal.

Tested it on my system, worked fine.

I'm taking the whole pc to my friends who has an extra psu, we'll figure it out from there. Thanks for the help guys, gonna mark this as solved now.

I'll edit in what the cause of this was later for future reference once we get it working again.

EDIT: So, after testing with a different CPU, we came to the conclusion that the motherboard was broken, and sure enough, after we RMA'd the mobo, a couple of days later i got a message that it was, indeed, broken.

So, my little brother booted his computer today, and it just wouldn't post at all. I opened it up and changed out the 2x4GB G.Skill Sniper 1866Mhz sticks out for a single Kingston HyperX Fury 4GB 1866Mhz stick, since i thought this was the problem, as i had previously recycled the sniper-sticks from my personal rig, where they would bluescreen my PC after a cold boot (super wise to stick them in my little brothers brand new rig, eh?). The G.Skills were working fine for a week, though, yesterday the system did get stuck on POST, which meant that i had to just simply unplug and replug the power cord, after which, the computer booted without problems. And today, this. Even the Fury-sticks won't work, and the computer is now unbootable. All the fans spin, the led on the GPU turns on, everything that would happen if the computer was starting up normally, except it just wont post.

Specs:

i5-4690

Asus H97M-E
Asus GTX 750 Ti

Silverstone Strider Essential 400w

WD Caviar Blue 1TB

Silverstone PS08B case.

What is the POST code (beep, or on screen if one shows) the motherboard should be giving out if it's failing POST?

No beeps, monitor says no signal.

If it's not spitting any error codes, and not beeping (assuming you have the speaker attached) then I think the problem is not a POST fail, but a connection issue between the display cable you're using. Are you using HDMI, D-SUB (VGA) or DVI?

I've tried a VGA and a HDMI cable on the dedicated GPU as well as the iGPU, both do the same thing; computer boots, fans spin, but no signal is coming through to the monitor.

And it is a monitor, not a TV, or TV/Monitor?

Without being able to look myself (more of a hands on tech), I can't help you further, and you'll have to wait for the community to chime in.
