I don't want USB adapter. I want onboard.

Then this whole thread is useless...

Maximus VI Hero has a wifi go module I believe... Gigabyte has a great PCIe wifi/bluetooth card, but if you're gaming... do you really want wifi? I assume you're gaming with this mb.

I always guarantee that no more than 50% of what I say is useful.

Wifi has no difference. Same speed. My parents kinda want the router to be downstairs, not beside me (it's currently on Ethernet.)

Actually I was wondering what difference there was. Is ROG any better than the ASUS PRO? Sometimes you have to compromise. I'm more on the actual benefits, not all onto aesthetics.

Motherboard doesn't affect performance!

I suggest buying something else if you aleady have the pro. It's still a pretty solid mobo.

Nope. Didn't buy anything yet. Just planning.

Look at the feature list, and ask yourself if you will use the extra features.  Those would be the reason to upgrade to ROG over Pro.

You could also go with the Maximus VII Gene (mATX form factor), which has a MPCIe plug specifically for a wifi adapter.  The adapter itself is sold separately, but it could be an option if wifi is the deciding factor.

Nah. It's also kind of OCD for me because I feel that ROG boards should use an i7. I know I'm wrong, I think my i5 is better off with the ASUS PRO.
