That's your opinion. Yes the 770 can max any games ever made however whats your opinion of playable ? I bet your opinion is different than mine.

He didn't say playable, he said max at 60 fps. It is not a bloody opinion that the GTX 770 CANNOT run anything at 60 fps. That just isn't true. It is false. Not an opinion. Performance numbers are not a matter of opinion, it is the exact opposite of an opinion. Look at every review ever and you will see a game where the average FPS is below 60 fps. it doesn't run every game 60 fps. It just doesn't. You can't argue otherwise, who cares why it doesn't. It just doesn't.

Simmer down LOL. Yes not many GPUs can max every game at 60fps due to unoptimized shit tier console port jobs and a general unwillingness from game devs to support PC gaming. It's a pity.

Maybe look at the rest of the posts. We already covered this.  I don't want to keep getting notifications over it if we already solved it.

I find it amusing how members with very limited GPU experience hail these midrange cards as gifts from the Gods. Any game at Ultra settings....they claim. Reminds me of Craigslist ads for "gaming" PCs. "This here Core duo with GTX 480 GPU runs any game at the highest settings for $500. All the LOLs..

LOL. Anyways, the 280X isn't half bad. Would definitely go higher though.

Ok, so this is it. I'm deciding between the MSI R9 290 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127774&cm_re=msi_r9_290-_-14-127-774-_-Product

Or Sapphire Tri-X R9 290 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202080&cm_re=r9_290-_-14-202-080-_-Product

I hear both cool pretty decently.

With either of these they should be able to play game on max with AA at 1080p, at at least 60fps?

I was originally going to get a Gigabyte 770 4gb, but everyone told me that it can't max games out anymore.

I love Sapphire cards. Before my current setup, I had a single VaporX 290...then added another. I personally don't ever play with AA, the 290 will do well at 1080p. Fully maxed with AA...not so much. But def go with Sapphire. The run cooler, quieter, and look sexy as...

Air 540, MSI Z97 Gaming 7, 4770K, SLI EVGA 980Ti, 16GB Vengeance Pro 2133, HX1050, H105840 EVO 500, 850 Pro 512, WD Black 1TB, HyperX 3K 120, SMSNG u28e590d, K70 Blues, M65 RGB.          Son's PC: A10 7850k, MSI A88X gaming, MSI gaming R9 270X, Air 240, H55, 8GB Vengeance pro 2400, CX430, Asus VG278HE, K60 Reds, M65 RGB                                                                                       Daughter's PC: i5-4430, MSI z87 gaming AC, GTX970 gaming 4G, pink air 240, fury 1866 8gb, CX600, SMSNG un55HU8550, CMstorm greens, Deathadder 2013

My Current rig link gives the full story, but to summarize, the 290 had thermal paste leaking all over since day one. Wasn't satisfied, so called Amazon and they made an exception to return them.
