For some reason my 8350 is hitting 61-62 degrees with a h100i almost instantly with 4.8GHz and 1.49v. Could a higher than average ambient temp be causing this higher temperature (25 Degrees in the UK atm)?

Thanks

How long has it been since you first attached the h100i? Could be as simple as changing the thermal paste. But yea if your room is hot that will definitely affect your computer.

it is at 4.8Ghz with almost a 1.5V, question is are you running Push/Pull or no, If not I would try remounting the cooler or try going to stock speeds and see if it gets close to that temp if so I would say look a Change into a possible change of fans.

It's maybe ~3 weeks old, it was a refurb unit, maybe some new paste would work?

It's just push atm, my NZXT Phantom i'm not sure if it let's you do it since you have to mount the Radiator with a bracket.

What are your normal temps with the h100i and that OC? To me 60c seems very reasonable for that high of a OC.

is this idling? also my 8350 under a H100i started hitting 90+C UNOVERCLOCKED because the pump failed after a month or two

My stock clock 8350 runs about 30*C with a EVO 212 and I'm the UK with this 'Heatwave' at the moment, as the others said, try going to the stock settings...

60°C is pretty hot for an 8350, in fact that is the thermal limit of it.

Yea I would try that.

I applied some new paste and idle temps dropped ~5 Degrees

~1.5V for 4.8GHz on an FX-8350 is quite high.

I'm using ~1.4V on mine for 4.8GHz.

Try:

- Dropping the Core Voltage down if possible

- CPU-VDDA asists in compensating for voltage droop. The stock is 2.5V; try increasing that to 2.55V - 2.6V.

- Increase the Adjust the CPU Load-Line-Calibration and CPU/NB Load-Line Calibration settings. High / Ultra, etc.

- Change the CPU Power Phase to Optimized or Extreme.

What are the other voltages set in the BIOS?

CPU-NB voltage?

NB volage?

SB voltage?

I could push it down to 1.45v
