Hi, I'm looking at building a new pc, mainly for work and gaming and just want to check if all these parts are compatible:

PS: I don't need any of the extra accessories.

PSS: I already know about Haswell being released very soon, and I probably won't be able to afford it anyway.

Max Budget: $700

Total Cost: $658

MOBO: AsRock Z77 Pro3

http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=9035

CPU: Intel i5 3330

http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=9552

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 650 TI 2GB

http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=9715

RAM: Kingston ValueRam 2x4GB

http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=9929

HDD: Western Digital 500GB

http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=7112

Optical Drive: Samsung Sata x22

http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=5580

Case: Coolmaster Elite RC-340 (included with 500W PSU)

http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=10235

Thanks,

You could save ~30$ if you buy a B75 board instead of a Z77 http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=9758

i would never buy a Case with a PSU included, you don't know what you get!

Case: http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=7726

PSU: http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=9907

And get a 7770 not the 650 TI or better a 7850 with the 30$ you can safe with the cheaper board

The build is stable but a bit unbalanced for the money you're spending.

Edit: http://www.newegg.com/Shopping/ShoppingItem.aspx?ItemList=N82E16827106289

(Forgot the dvd drive)

You can upgrade the 3350p with the 3470 if you'd like for a bit more processing power.

Adding an ssd would also be a good choice to make your computer nice and snappy. A Samsung 840 120gb will do fine but this would go over your budget. It's roughly $100. You could get it if you downgrade to an i3 3220. Despite how unappealing the i3 is, it is more than capable of running almost every game fine with its hyperthreading and won't bottleneck as drastically as many people think.

Now the laptop mobile i3...that's a whole different story.

If you want more hdd space, a 3tb seagate barracuda is about $140.

The motherboard has sata 3 6gb/s and usb 3.0 ports which is nice considering how cheap it is.

Haswell will be around the same price and it will lower prices of current gen. So you may wait for the price drop.

Stuff will probably still drop in price over time and not all at once. I'm guessing at Haswell's release and again when the new i3's come out.

I'm actually quite excited for the i3's as the idea of a low power, budget cpu is quite appealing to me.

Yes they do. :D

Edit: And it's probably 10-15%, 20% max for the i series.

yes...but thats a refurbished cpu :D

If you want to buy a new Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 (C0), 2x 3.16GHz you still have to pay 150€ and lowest price was 143€ in 2009:D

The thing is if a processor works, it'll work for quite a while, refurbished or not. It's not like a hard drive with moving parts that could easily die.

if some mad man had the cpu before you he could easily take 95% of it's lifespan by overvolting...electromigration and stuff :D

Lol, I would like to see what contraption was used to measure the cpu's lifespan.
