What about the difference between Z97 and H97? :)

Z97 is when you need SLi and OC for your K series chip

Z97 has overclocking features and more boards fully support SLI and crossfire, they have some more features but they are not required for most users, if you go with a locked CPU (non ''k'') then you should not consider a Z97 board they cost more.

The Asrock board is superior, it can use 4 DDR3 sticks and is just plain better all around, i'd go with that.

this is the D3H, it's much better...but the op linked the HD3...same letters in a different order to confuse buyers...i hate it when they do that!

For that reason i recommanded the Asrock with is superior to the HD3 but not to the D3H (wich was not an option)

The Ram i have choosen is :http://www.newegg.com/global/uk/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231460. will the Asrock mobo support this Ram???

sure, if you want it running at 1866mhz remember to enable xmp profile 1 in the bios otherwise the ram will run at 1333mhz stock.

stands true for every motherboards you always have to enable xmp profile in order to run the ram at rated speed.

But when they write supported speeds i thought the 1866 wouldn't run??

it says on asrock website that it supports 1600mhz but the board should take 1866mhz without issues, if not just run the ram at 1600mhz but i'm 99% confident that if you pick XMP profile 1 it will run at 1866mhz all day long.

Hey there!

You are talking about some serious gaming? I helped my mate upgrade his PC and he can nope run BF4 on high graphics ;). I would suggest 16GB of ram, just because its cheap before the DDR4 ram is coming out and to be safe, spent a little extra and upgrade. You want a pretty decent GPU because thats what will do the majority of your video rendering. So, I would go with a Asus board, XMS3 ram ( 1600MHZ 16GB ), DVD Burner, i5 non unlocked core, if you are a over clocker get the unlocked K, and SSD for boot + WD Black for data. Ill make a list and link down the bottom of the system I would build you. For high end gaming you are looking at $2000 - $3000, especially with the way everything is increasing. Hope this helped

System: Little less ( Maybe Medium Settings ) http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=wish_lists&wlcId=241816&action=wish_lists

              More Cash ( High Settings ) http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=wish_lists&wlcId=242133&action=wish_lists

everything said there is pretty much wrong mate...an high end gaming rig won't cost nowhere near 2000$-3000$...and you don't need 16gb of ram for gaming as no games as of today ever used more than 5GB of RAM (OS and apps running in the background included!) ...video rendering is done by the CPU in 90%+ of the softwares, RAM speed has no effect on gaming either...here to prove you that you're wrong a full unleashed gaming PC that can run anything you throw at it on ultra settings at 1080P with constant 60+FPS:
