Memory for Pentium G3258

Hi,
 
On the Intel product page it's said "Memory Types: DDR3-1333". Does this mean I can only run the RAM at the maximum of 1333 MHz speed and buying a 1600 RAM stick would be useless?

That is the theoretical limit, yes.

Not necessarily. It will -support- it, but it won't run necessarily at that speed. Speaking from experience, with the g3220 where my RAM will only run at a max of 1333MHz, rather than its rated 1600MHz.

Don't quote me but you need to enable XMP profiles to use over 1333 or sth.

If your motherboard supports the frequency then you can set it to that frequency ie if motherboard support 2400 then you can use 2400

it depends, the spec on the intel site probably means that when you use your memory, it will default to 1333mhz, you need to go into the UEFI/BIOS to enable the frequency

Remember,  max RAM frequency decreases when overclocking

Don't know. 1333 is Intel's max officially supported frequency although I haven't heard of anyone having any problems running any faster ram. The gist is that it speeds supported by the motherboard will work fine.

Eep. I worded that badly. My RAM is rated at 1600MHz. G3220 is rated at 1333MHz. It runs at 1333MHz.

Mines rated for 2400.... runs at 1333 yolo.
