DDR4 is the "latest and greatest" but when it comes out, it wont really be a good option for consumers in the beginning, and you'll be perfectly fine with what you currently have, unless it's DDR2 of course :)

The most common result of insufficient wattage is a paperweight that looks like a PC

October ish w/ X99 starting cost, look at an 8GB 2400MHz stick and add on about 30-130% for the new factor.

 

 

Already available where i live (ECC only though).

that's server grade DDR4 which has been out a couple years actually things work their way downward from extreme servers->commercial servers->professional desktop->desktop->everyone and their dog has it... DDR4 is scurrently going from commercial to professional
