Hey everyone, I am looking for a good free to play MMORPG to play. I was playing WoW but I can't continue to pay for it. What are your suggestions? And hopefully something that isn't Pay-To-Win.

I suggest RIFT, F2P, and the best things you can possibly get in the game cannot be purchased with real money, they have to be made/found/whoknowswhat in-game.

Hey everyone, I am looking for a good free to play MMORPG to play. I was playing WoW but I can't continue to pay for it. What are your suggestions? And hopefully something that isn't Pay-To-Win.

I'm a huge fan of RPGs, and I've played a decent bit of MMORPGs, specifically.

Here's the list of games I recommend (And don't at the bottom), and my reasons why:

Recommend:

Rift - Community bags on WoW a bit, but don't be fooled. Rift is very similar to WoW in many different ways. It also has a bit better graphics. For the most part though, the gameplay is nearly the same as WoW's in most regards. You have professions, classes, races, quests, PvP, dungeons, Epic gear, low end gear, raids, and most of those are the same types as WoW's anyway, so it's something good for both the familiar WoW player, and the unfamiliar players. Keep in mind though, it's not nearly as well optimized as WoW, and WoW isn't all that well optimized in the first place anyway.

C9 - This is quite a bit different from WoW actually. It's more stylish, and sort of reminds you of Devil May Cry in a few ways, well that is of course coming from a person who chose a warrior as my main class. It's not too difficult to get used to, and it's very satisfying being able to easily handle many different enemies at the same time by yourself, and it's also nice to have the option to ramp up the difficulty of the same dungeons to make it impossible to solo.

Dungeons & Dragons Online - The style of this game is a bit more hardcore, even if you're a cleric. It's not too rough to get used to, but it will take some time. When you do get used to it though, it can be one of the most addicting experiences to be had in an MMORPG. It's fun, and if you can learn how to survive well - it makes you feel like a serious badass when overcoming a great boss battle. Again, its dungeons are like C9 in the sense that you can solo on normal difficulties, but can be extremely difficult on higher ones - depending on the dungeon and difficulty.

Neverwinter - This one's also very addicting, it gives you a seemingly endless loop system of rewards, quests, things you can buy with those rewards, and solid gameplay controls. Also, the areas which you do your quests are outstanding visually, and stylistically. It's even pretty well optimized, although a bit rough on low end CPUs in the cities.

Don't Recommend:

Allods Online: This was fun for a while, but after you get used to the visual pleasantries, it all seems like an endless slow grind unless you paid real money. At least that's how it seemed to me.

Runes Of Magic: I was actually close to recommending this one, in all honesty, it should belong in a more neutral section. It's pretty much a WoW clone, stylistically, visually, and it feels a lot like WoW.... at least, vanilla WoW. This is fine and all, but I personally only truly enjoyed the dungeons and the hybrid classes. Although, I can understand it if you wanted to play this one, it's actually not bad.

Fiesta: Visually I don't care for it, but the main reason why I didn't like this one is because it just felt bland overall without much creative content being added. Basically, I felt like it was just the definition of mediocrity in the MMORPG world.

Perfect World: I liked this for a while, but like Allods, things eventually became more of a grind than it was worth. I spent hours on this game, quite a few of them - and I actually regret playing for as long as I did. I can understand the appeal to the game, but I for one can't understand why someone would play this game for more than a few days - it just didn't seem worth it to me.

I've played Rift, Runes of Magic and Tera.. Rift is by far the best imho.

Tera is really good, the combat system is great, but the game is just so linear and predictable.

Rift is great if you have a few friends to play with, and it's one of the better looking MMORPG's out there.
