Thermal Paste Spill

I spilled some Arctic Silver 5 on my FX 8320. Probably the gap between the silver material and bottom green layer. I tried to clean it as much as possible but very slight amount is stuck there in minute gap. The CPU runs fine. Its over 3 weeks now but now while putting up a new fan I saw it once again as I had almost forgot about it and that's why I am posting here. Thanks.

I would remove your CPU and clean it very carefully. You don't want that stuff getting on any electrical contacts, it conducts electricity quite well, being silver.

For some thermal pastes. I don't think AS5 is electrically conductive. Or I'm getting it confused with AS MX-2.

So many better thermal pastes other than arctic silver that don't need 200 hours of burn time to start working properly.

Please, i had thermal paste on the pins of the cpu and haven't noticed it. Working flawlessly

But, as Bagmup said, there's way better and safer stuff out there now.
