CPU hitting 80 celcius

Go to solution Solved by Monti,

did you set up that case fans correctly. intake with exhaust? I think some thermal pastes take time to become "perfect" and did you install it correctly with even pressure on all sides.

As the title explains, my CPU is getting really hot. I recently got a new case (bitfenix Ronin) and after playing some games on it my PC suddenly crashed. I even touched the heatsink and kinda burned my finger a bit. I don't have any less fans in this case and a new case surely wouldn't get it twice as hot. (It's hitting 80 in Idle, I'm not trying anything intensive again)

I applied new thermal paste when I was migrating to the case, so it should be working. Any suggestions?

I dunno about that. Changed the paste on this laptop and it instantly went from 100C to 50C.

Tha's' from what I heard. I'm not expert when it comes to paste

They were in correctly. Got me thinking to place some fans differently which helped a lot, also took off the side panel of which I will take off the plastic window and put some kind of grated stuff on it. CPU is running fine now. (40C idle)

Thanks for the input anyway guys!
