For any Laptop seekers.

If you NEED a budget "gaming" laptop, please look at XMG.

XMG stands for Extreme Mobile Gaming and specializes in laptops, (http://www.mysn.eu/index.php)

These laptops are highly CUSTOMIZABLE and when you click a laptop in the products section it will tell you : Generation processor, Graphic card series (some have double GPU's Nvidia OR AMD), Max RAM and Max storage.

The site extension does say EU but they ship internationally, at least it looks like it when looking at the "Shipping & Payments" section.

For an example of what you can customize in a laptop (This is the XMG P724 17.3" Pro Gaming Notebook, this is one of the more expensive ones) : http://postimg.org/image/y6xfyeh8p/

This was it's banner : http://postimg.org/image/d5oduvw1r/

If you would max it out it would end up costing €5000+, stock specs is €1400 and can be even lowered by not ordering a WLAN card or Hard Drive.

At the highest price, meaning that I just clicked on the most expensive thing on each section, except Optical Drive, Warranty, Keyboard, Office Software, Security Software, USB Memory Stick and Power Cable it totals at €5,283.00 translating into 7188,21 US Dollars without shipping fee, this would include (since I don't have any means of capturing the page as a whole) :

Display : (Uncustomizable) 17.3"  Full-HD 1920x1080 Matte (Stock)

Graphics Card : 2x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M 8192MB GDDR5 SLI (+ €924.00)

Processor : Intel Core i7-4940MX Quad Core - 3.10 - 4.00GHz 8MB 57W (+€ 905.00)

Memory : 32 (4x8192) SO-DIMM DDR3 RAM 1600MHz Crucial Ballistix Sport (Only with Quadcore Cpu) (+ € 350.00)

Hard Drive : 1TB SATA-III SSD Crucial M550 (+ €510.00)

Hard Drive 2 : 1TB SATA-III SSD Crucial M550 (+ €510.00)

MSATA Drive 1 : 512 mSATA SSD Crucial M550 (+ €302.00)

MSATA Drive 2 : 512 mSATA SSD Crucial M550 (+ €302.00)

Optical Drive : DVD-RW (Stock)

WIFI Card : Qualcomm Atheros Killer Wireless-N 1202 (with bluetooth) with driver CD (+ €33.00)

Warranty : 24 Month Collect & Return (inc parts, labour, support, shipping) (Stock)

Operating System : Microsoft Windows 801 Pro 64 Bit English (+ €109.00)

Why would I make such a thread? People are always asking/searching for custom laptops, and this is the best site I have found that helps with these requests.

Clevo based laptops are really great and high customisable

There are alot of "custom laptop sellers" and they're not worth it at all.

what? not worth it? they make some great laptops for some great prices, my 11.6" gaming laptop is a custom built Clevo unit, and its fantastic. 2 friends have bought the 14" versions too

Apple makes the best custom laptops. Trust me, I've tried most of the bespoke boutique brands and Apple is flawless every time.

I LOVE macbooks

but Apple are not really what I would consider "custom" you have a few choices but barely choice of components!

I do like their laptops though, but that might just be me

It's not the best for a custom gaming PC, but Apple is pretty widely accepted to make the best laptops not necessarily for gamers.

You can choose the CPU, RAM, and SSD. Not sure what else you'd want to.

You can barely choose, you have the choice of 2 or 3 processors, 8gb or 16gb of ram, and 2 ssd sizes....

In my clevo I could pick from like 26 processors, meaning I could get the spec I want for the price I want you can even pick

Screen resolution, glossy not glossy, ips or tn, hard drive or ssd, different gpus, different cpus, different network cards, different dvd drives etc etc etc all to match needs or budget

Macbooks are great machines (probably my favourite laptops) but they are not custom gaming laptops
