Hello everybody. I know there are a lot of questions asking "what SSD should I get for (insert use)". The thing is that I have seen a lot of videos by tech reviews on SSD and I know nothing about them. I've have been looking for a SSD for some time now and going to buy on this month. i just want to but windows on it and games that I will always have (tf2,cs:go,lol ,starcraft ,etc). I have max of 150 USD and don't really care where you find it. I don't know if I should get a really fast SSD or something that will last a long time. I just know nothing when it comes to storage. If you can help, please respond. Thanks for helping!

For that money you have a choice of a few different 256GB models.

Usually within the $90-150 on special....

Post what you find, and others here will tell you if that brand has a decent history.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

There are many competing SSDs under this price, the best choices out there are;

250GB Samsung 840 EVO, Adata Premier Pro SP920 256GB, Plextor M5S 256GB, Crucial M550 256GB, Sandisk Ultra Plus 256GB, Intel 530 240GB and Seagate 600 Pro 240GB.

You cannot go wrong with this drives!

Some other good options, that while are not the best performers, have a very competing price and overall are very good drives are:

Crucial MX100 256GB, Adata Premier Pro SP600 256GB, Corsair Force LX 256GB.

Thanks for then suggestions. I have been looking at the 840 evo and it looks good. I was also looking at the Crucial M500 (240gb) The place im going to buy at has the 840 evo (240gb) at $170 and the 120gb version at $100. The crucial drive is $120, so I don't know if speed is worth paying 50 dollars more to get more space. What do you guys think.

Any help with my question? I don't know how much of a speed boost the 840 evo will have over the m500

I would personally go with the Samsung.   I feel they're better quality.

In everyday use, you probably won't notice the difference between the M500 an the EVO.

Well thanks for chiming in. I'll probably go with the Samsung unless something happens. Thanks everyone.
