DDR4

Go to solution Solved by SageC,

How long should I wait I want to have this build for as long as I can. 3ish years

We're PC enthusiasts, not fortune tellers. If DDR4 is a viable option when you build the computer, sure go for it. The only advice I can give is don't wait to build the computer solely on DDR4.

I have a few questions since seeing the new techquickie video:

1. Is it worth waiting for?

2. When is due to be released?

3. Will it be compatible with current Devils Cannon CPUs?

1. Probably not.

2. "Soon."

3. Probably not.

4. It's going to be real expensive when it first comes out and will probably be only available on whatever the new X#9 platform will be.

With the amount of problems that usually come with a ram release. HELL NO.

Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof.

As I get older I get angrier more cynical, meaner. I feel some warning posts coming. I feel a ban coming. I was warned.

Here is my current build plans (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/wf6st6) with custom watercooling.

1. Not unless you plan on going to X99 anyway.

2. Whenever X99 comes around. Probably later this year.

3. Nope.

DDR4 will only be on X99 for the time being so it's not worth the money if you're not doing crazy tasks on the system.

I doubt you'll be buying it.

When is it due well this Sept or after.

Haswell-E and the upcoming 6th gen Skylake

1. If you're going to build your computer in 3 years DDR4 will probably be the norm for all motherboards.

2. This year around September for X99.

3. No, currently the  know chipsets are Haswell-E and Skylake.
