when is DDR4 comericalizing?

or would they never cuz ddr3 is more than enough now?

but judging by the lower power consumption, i think alot a mobile makers would like to get on board, so next year maybe?

end of next year maybe or early 2016...and yes DDR3 performance is plenty for 99% of the users out there it's overkill...skylake will be the new architecture from intel and should use DDR4.

Not to mention when ddr4 comes out it will have similar performance to ddr3, unless of course you spend too much money on the mid to high end of ddr4.

i would even go as far as predicting it will take time before DDR4 will be relevant and affordable because my guess is that the new skylake architecture will probably not be such a step up to justify an upgrade from ivy or haswell based system and most will stick with what they have..

yep. Hell, most people are still using 1333/1600/1866 ddr3, whereas they could easily go up to 3200; and 8gb (gaming) to 16gb (editing) with the occasional 32gb (extreme editing). So....there really isn't even a need for ddr4.

yeah, but other than the performence, wouldn't the 1.2V be attractive to laptops? or even tablets?

Intel LGA1151 is when we will see it on a mainstream consumer platform, however X99 coming this year (I believe) will have it first as the enthusiast flagship platform.
