R9 290 1440p

Go to solution Solved by d3sl91,

Hello, unsure if this is the right part of the forum, I have a question.

I'm building my first computer and I want to game at 1440p on max settings (frames equal or above 30 will a R9 290 Tri-X cover it ? Should I take a higher power supply to Crossfire in the future ?

Currently Corsair CS650 Gold.

Thanks

Jack

Depends on the game.

Look up 1440p benchmarks for the games you want to play, it's the only way you will know for sure. 290 will be decent for that resolution, 30 or higher for sure. I personally shoot for 50/60 or higher.

i will say 750 to 800 watts

coz dual Tri-X draw like 500 watts just the GPU alone

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Thankyou for the quick response

I think making the power supply run as easily as possible is the best idea.

What about the 1440p thing ?

yea single 290 at 1440P without AA can shoot 50-60 fps

Thankyou for the answer. I'll lookup the benchmarks and probably make Crossfire a possibility.
