I just recently broke my collar bone (left clavicle) and i find it extremely difficult and painful to use a key board and even just to sit comfortably is a struggle. Especially when WASD are near to impossible to use.

Any posture or positioning tips would be amazing seeing as i will not be playing any contact sport for 6 months and i expect to find myself playing a lot of video games on my PC. And probably a lot of chillen on this forum...

Even some recovery and sleeping tips would be appreciated.

You broke your arm in one place...Don't go to that place

^Put the keyboard on your lap for WASD, perhaps that will help ^^'

I just started to try after i saw this but its defiantly awkward and can get pain full when reaching for the middle of the key board. Especially with a sling.

Thanks

Keep a controller or the keyboard in your lap. I've broken both my collarbones and that position is the only one i found to be at least less painfull.

Use a controller, sit up straight or lie down (though you'd probably have to bend to see the screen that way, and that won't be great for you), don't slouch or twist your neck/torso any more than you need to; doing this for too long will cause stress on your spine, especially in your condition.

Other than that, pick up one of these, a pack filled with rice; stick it in the microwave, put it on your shoulders, and the pain will disappear :D I swear they're magic. If you have a pharmacy / drugstore nearby, they will almost always have one.

Painkillers. That's the best I got. My experience? broke the Radius and the Ulna in my right arm, about 4 inches from the wrist. Clean break, but goddamn did it hurt for a few days after, even with the pills they gave me (the morphine did nothing when they set it, apparently my body is naturally resistant to opioids)

The best thing I found was sleep, manage to sleep until your body's natural inflammatory response subsides (for my arm, it swelled up inside the cast and I had to go back to the hospital that night to get something because it felt like my arm was exploding)

Hope you feel better man, sucks to be injured.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs
