I am posting this here cause i am always on here.

 

Ok my mom had a stroke late 2012,and well we have recently been trying to get her in social security disability and Supplemental Security Income,well they denied her for social security disability,but approved her for the other.

 

They said she was not disabled enough,despite the fact she need a walker to get around.and that she can barely lift a gallon of milk in her good hand and half that with her other.

 

Even worse they only gave her $480,and because she is getting they are cutting her foodstamps from $189 to $90,i don't understand how the hell they expect her to survive off of that each month.

I don't understand the full scope of the situation. Can't help you much here besides advising you to look into other social services or contacting a expert who's experienced in the various benefits you could get,

I really don't see how it is financially possible for her to live off of it,do you guys see any way for it to work?

Not to be a downer, but I have experience with this. Expect the majority to be against your mother and years of bullshit. My mother recently got hers only a couple of months ago after years of fighting for it. This women had multiple surgeries on her back and the legal system treated her like shit with the same excuse you hear "you're not disabled enough". I'm also sure you share the same anger of knowing how many people scam the system and get assistance while people who legit need it get denied. It's a long road that is not going to get any easier, this is the hard reality. You're going to need a stubborn attorney to push and you're going to need to apply lots of pressure to win this.
