How good is a xeon for gaming, recording, animating, video editing, and general uses?

I7-6700k, Asus Maximus VIII Formula, 2 x 8GB Corsair Dominator Plantinum ram, ASUS GTX 960 STRIX, sound blaster zx, 1TB boot drive ssd, 128GB/256GB storage ssd, 1TB storage HDD, 4TB of storage (backup),Windows 10 Pro,1000w psu

its an i7 without igp and turbo boost ,pretty good.

Pretty good, although generally you will be better off buying a consumer part.

for the price of a i5 with i7 features like HT

 

I say it pretty worth it

 

nobody say you cannot use a Xeon for home PC

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Overpriced, and you can only overclock in certain motherboards through the BCLK. I would not recommend this for a home use environment.

When I build my PC soon I'm going to get a Xeon-e3 1230v3 because of it's near i5 price with i7 features. If you want to OC go i7 since this one is a lot harder to OC as stated above, if you aren't going to OC like me then it's worth it IMO. Keep in mind the v number, v3 is Haswell.
