Firstly, can it actually be done? Or has it been done before.

The main reason for asking is I currently have a H100i fitted to my CPU, and 2x R9 270x that I would like to water cool. (we can skip the argument that a 780 or 780ti would be money better spend). From what I can see there are no waterblocks that fully cover the the cards and universal blocks require additional passive cooling for the rest of the card.

SO with that said, I have 2 Kraken G10 GPU mounting kits that allow several AIO CPU coolers to be attached to a GPU. I would rather not have 3 AIO loops running in my case. I would instead like to take my H100i out and chop both the radiators off the ones mounted to the GPU, throw in res and pump then plump everything together through a larger 360mm and 240mm radiator(maybe re used the H100i rad here) instead.

Thoughts, ideas, alternatives???

270x waterblocks don't exist so yeah and it has to be the stupidest idea I've ever heard, but someone has done it on Ltt

Either do a custom loop with universal blocks and some passive cooling or put seperate AIOs on each of them. You would just loose your warranty on all the AIOs. It's not worth it.

Also why watercool your 270Xs? What coolers do they have? It's not worth it imo. Watercooling is worth it for like 770s or 780s/ 280Xs 290s.

Edit: you could replace your H100i with a swiftech H220/ Cooler Master Eisberg 240L and build a custom loop from that. Their pump is actually amde for small custom loops unlike the H100i pump.

who cares...

:D Cheers, I don' think it's that stupid to see if I can recycle parts as opposed to scrapping them and getting new. Thanks for you constructive input on the subject :P

I have stated to regret getting the H100i more and more as I have owned it. Teach me for being lazy in the first place.

Only reason for even wanting to watercool my 270Xs is due to them having to be positing next to each other, One of my PCI-e's are broken and the other unusable due to SATA and USB connectors. Means that when running them my top card is hitting high 80's with the bottom one reaching low to mid 70's.

Hm. That's a odd situation that you're in. Have you tried RMAing your motherboard for the broken PCIe slot?

1. You could watercool only the top card with G10 + AIO or both cards (i mean the 750D has room for 3 AIOs) but that would be really wicked and you would ahve 3  pumps which is kinda crazy.

2. Full custom loop with universal blocks. That would solve the issue and perform the best.

3. Deal with it.

Either of the water cooling options could probably be transfered to two other cards in the future so that's great but still kinda janky. Idk if it's worth to WC 270X even though they're Hawks.

Unfortunately it was me who broke the PCIe slot so they aren't interested.

3 AIO in one case, that may be a little bit crazy :). I can also see it being a nightmare try to fit the many fixed pipes around my case, plus if they are anything like my H100i it would just have a mind of its own.

Ideally I want a custom waterloop, may work out cheaper over all to swap out my GPU's for 1 card, would ultimately mean less piping, 1 less water block less connects etc. And I can get a card that actually has a waterblock for it.

Damn what'd you do to the PCIe slot... :P

I think you've answered your own question. Short from getting uni blocks and having some extra fans for passive cooling it would be better to ditch the 270's and get a single new card. A 780 (ti) from EVGA or Asus wouldn't need WC'ing either unless you really want the aesthetics or  really low temps.

Well this being my first build, and not having a clue, was unaware of the little clip at the back of the PCIe that locks the card in place. So being the caveman I am, Idecided it was just a bit stuck and wrenched it off as hard as I could. Needless to say it doesn't really work now :D.

Just looking at some few different 780tis at the moment, already placed the appropriate eBya listings for my current cards and NZXT brackets. :(. Half tempted to water cool it just fo the look really, and the opportunity to replace the H100i.

On the plus side, new parts day again!!

Hahaha, I've had those caveman man tendencies myself. What's a little bit of brute force to speed things up...

Watercooling will definitely look sexy AF. Not to mention <60 degrees Celsius for CPU and GPU depending on setup and ambient temps.

EVGA 780 ti SC w/ ACX would be my recommendation. I'm looking at 780's too but I can't for the life of me decide whether to get a ti or non-ti. My business mind knows that the extra $200 for a ti to get 12-17 more fps is in no way feasible. The part that wants the best of the best is willing to shell out $200 more for one :P.

Think I will be leaving brute force well away from any build and upgrades in the future, i've learnt my lesson :D

Getting about 55c max on my CPU now just my GPUs that run hot. Im seriously tempted to get the standard 780ti as I only want to rip.. sorry gentle remove, the fans of it an add a full water block. The spare watts I gain from running one GPU should be more than enough to power a custom loop too.

Sounds like you need to stop listening to that business part of your brain, It's bad for you! :P
