We can't say for sure, but if your internet speed is far away from what you are paying for, there is a great chance that your connection is bottlenecked somewhere. In this case it's yet not sure if your modem/router bottlenecks or if that is your PC. So we can only guess, but in all cases as Wano 1997 said, if it is not so far away from what you should be getting on paper, then most probably you wont see any difference at all even if you change your modem/router.

If you can't fix it with the hammer, then you need a bigger hammer!

Only really if you are using an outdated router. Though sometimes third party ones do help slightly, but if you have a thrid party router, you will have to manually set it up with you isp over the phone in many cases. Best part is if your isp is like Comcast, they will refuse to help you or troubleshoot your service if you are using a third party router, even if the problem is on their end. Plus they are getting bitchy about borderline forcing their customers to upgrade to that wifi router so they can do that wifi hotspot opt-out program. So choose wisely and consult with them assholes first.

Ofc unless you have great internet I doubt you'll see much of a difference.
