I built my current rig when i was 14ish with my father, that was six years ago and it wasn't that good when we made it.

Core 2 Quad @ 2.33Ghz

GTX 550ti

4 Gb DDR2

And at this point it is literally held together by duck tape, if you play Eve youll understand that it is of Mimmatar design.

So now it's time to start the next build and i want to do it proper so this time so i've allocated 2000USD for the actually computer and 1000USD for the monitors and keyboard/mouse. The idea for this rig is strictly gaming, the most intensive games I run are farcry3, Ultra modded Skyrim and Fallout 4 (hopefully soonTM). I’ve done a lot of research and this is what I was thinking.

Tower:

MB: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H

Cpu: i5-4670k

Cpu cooler: Kraken x61

Ram: G.Skill Ares 16GB (2x8)

Gpu: 2x Sapphire R9 290 4gb Tri-X

Storage: 840evo 500 GB SSD (yes that’s enough)

Power: Corsair Atx12v 1000W

Case: Air 540

Peripherals:

Keyboard: Corsair RGB (because what else)

Mouse: Mad Catz RAT7

Screens:

2x ASUS LED IPS 24inch 1080p

1x QNIX 27inch PLS 2560x1440

Here are the things im not sure about:

Fans: I need eight of them and I would like them to be orange or black to match the build, but beyond that im not sure. I heard that Linus might have a fan coming out but I haven’t heard about them since the lan show.

Cpu: I don’t know if that’s really enough or if I should go for an i7 4770k or something like that?

And are there any either bad choices made or if there any areas to improve the rig.

Get the 4690K for your CPU, everything else looks fine but I warn you the RAT 7 gunks up underneath I would recommend staying away from it and get another brand (speaking from personal experience) and are you sure 500GB is enough? games really fill up hard drives nowadays.

Alrighty, here is a few things to help you :)

1) Please use http://pcpartpicker.com/ or your regional equivalent to display which parts you have chosen as this makes it easier for us to help you and you to actually choose where the stuff is cheapest and so ;)

2) If you will only be gaming there is still no need for an i7 CPU. You will simply just not need it. Stick to the i5s is my suggestion.

3) The motherboard is alright, quite nice in fact, but personally I would have chosen a different one. I'll elaborate which below.

4) CPU cooler is a good one, but personally I would have chosen a H105 from Corsair simply just because it's about the same performance and comes with better features in my opinion.

5) RAM is completely subjective, but think over that you might not need 16 GBs of it ;)

6) GPUs are excellent, SSD is good, but which power supply do you actually mean? Because as far as I know there is no PSU with that name...

7) As for the case, do you really want/need a cube case? There is to be honest better options out there if you are not going cube in that price range, but I suppose if you want a cube case you will be alright.

8) As for your budget, never allocate so much to pc, so much to peripherals etc. Have a budget for the entire build, that makes it a lot easier for you.

9) Keyboard (I don't think it's out yet though...), mouse and screens are alright, but I would personally never go for monitors with different resolution and so on myself. If you want to though, go ahead ;)

10) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fw50IWQzAaU These are probably the fans you are talking about, and if you have the money then by all means go for them :)

As for what I would have chosen instead of this: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hT9fFT

This is though without an OS and monitors as I expect you to already have an OS as it is not stated above and I am serious noob when it comes to monitors :P

For the cpu, the i5 will have no problem.  An i5 can even handle GTX 780s in crossfire!

If you have the money for super high quality fans get Noctua Industrial fans, they are black and overalll super high end but also super expensive.

If you want good looking fans Corsair SP and AF fans are good, they aren't as good as Noctua but their better than what comes with your case.

Thanks for the comments.

Yeah the idea was to not cut any corners, so instead of paying a small amount less then i would normally i would just save up alittle bit longer and get the better piece.

I forgot to mention that i was going for a Black and Orange color scheme.

The monitors ( this may be silly) i was going to have the 27inch horizontal and in the center and on either side a vertical monitor; these wouldn't be used for gaming but ive grown too used to having multiple monitors to not have something.

the power supply might be overkill and ill get a smaller one if i can get away with it.

and ill certainly check out Noctua fans and a different mouse

Don't allocate separate funds for each part unless you feel like restricting your build options for some reason.

Are you just trying to get a good gaming experience or do you just have $3000 to blow on the best hardware you can get?

Yeah i had that as allocated funds because when i first did my part reserch i had a 3k budget and thats just how the cost stacked up: ie the monitors and peripherals that i wanted added up to 1000usd
