windows 7 or windows 8 / 8.1?

Go to solution Solved by ShadowCaptain,

Windows 8.1 imo, they might really find the tile design really easy once explained, its great for one task people who find taskbars and menus and windows difficult to manage

Oh and if they dont like it you can just install startisback/start8 and get windows 7 looks with 8.1 performance

I'm building a simple internet surfing and youtube video watching for my grandparents.

Should i use windows 7 or windows 8 / 8.1, the last pc my dad build from then was a windows 98 upgraded to XP now that XP is gone i dunno which os is better for them please help thank you

I prefer W7, but if you like the tile theme go for W8. Performance or function wise there isn't a huge difference.

If it's just for browsing around then use whatever you want.
Although being granparents they might be more familiar with older windows, in which case use win7 all the way.

AMD FX-8320 @ 3.7GHz on Asrock 970 Pro3 R2.0 with 8 GB Kingston HyperX RAM, Gigabyte HD7850, Seasonic S12 II 520W, 3x 250GB hard drives (yes, the spinning kind)
