Laptop not booting

Trollzarz

Hi

Today I decided to do a fresh install of Windows 8.1 on my HP pavilion dv6-6b10tx. I took the hard drive out of my laptop and plugged it into another computer I had. I formatted the drive and then reinstalled Windows. Now that I have put it back into my laptop whenever I boot it says "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key"

How can I fix this?

Thanks

wait you install your OS using another computer?

aren't you suppose to install the OS with the HDD installed into your laptop?

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

I would reformat the HDD in the first computer, then install it in the laptop and install windows there.
There are certain drivers that get loaded into windows for the hardware. If you go through the setup on a desktop, then take it to a laptop with different hardware it most likely won't boot.

Is there a disk drive on the laptop?

Dream-phone: USB type-c (3.1), 1440p, 5-inch, removable battery, 32gb RAMdrive, sd card slot, stock Android, transparent atomic purple build, 9050 mah battery, waterproof AF, nuclear powered, ac wifi is fine.
OR a one-of-a-kind iphone that runs Android.
