So I recently purchased an Intel i7-4790K and a Geforce GTX 780. In order to cut costs, I purchased a Corsair CX600M in order to power the system. I made sure to go for something that was 80 Plus Certified but I'm beginning to regret the decision to cut costs and buy a budget PSU. It's not Haswell certified, which doesn't really matter to me since C states can be disabled. My main concern is if the PSU is going to hold up. It's Corsair's builder series which doesn't come with the best capacitors. This PSU does come with a low capacity Japanese capacitor which actually hinders it and prevents it from meeting the hold up time ATX spec which I am told is bad. I'm also told it's not as good under load and my system will use around 475W at maximum load since I have the hardware, a closed loop, and six fans. My question is, was it a mistake purchasing a PSU? Do any of you guys have a powerful machine running on a budget PSU? I'm also worried about the PSU damaging or destroying my other parts. The PSU has voltage protection specs listed but my knowledge in this area is limited.

It will work, but with that kind of budget I would expected at least a gold rated power supply. Higher efficiency power supplies are usually of higher quality.

I'm sure it will work. But I'm just concerned about the PSU destroying or damaging parts and how long it will hold up.
