Major FPS drops while playing games

Since I got the old gpu (AMD Radeon 6950) and the new power supply (700 watt) from my brother I have been having these problems. Diablo 3 had some fps drops while engaging a big wave of enemies and sometimes my computer had some problems that programs weren't responding.

I actually wanted to upgrade my computer for a while and was hoping to fix some of my problems I have been getting (Maybe the gpu was having some problems, because of age?).
So I got the: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 760 (MSI), a new motherboard : ASRock B75 Pro3-M (CPUSocket), a new RAM: 8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz and a new Hard Drive: 932GB Seagate ST1000DM003-1CH162 (SATA).
I kept my CPU: Intel Core i7 2600 @ 3.40GHz and my power supply.

Since I have been using this build, my computer kept these problems and it has become even worse after 1-2 months. My league of legends started having really bad problems with having major fps drops to the 0-30 fps, sometimes it froze for a couple of seconds. I have been checking my temp for so far, because it's getting pretty warm in my room, but it never has been to a dangerous lvl and it got checked by some of my friends that have some knowledge about it, the highest my CPU got was about 60 degrees. I have tried to reinstall the client, but nothing helped.

I started playing World of warcraft aswell since a week ago and it was impossible for me to play. Fps keeps dropping from the 95 to 0-20. I noticed though when someone lvled up or someone joined somehow that's the point where it freezes.
And like I said before my google chrome is acting weird since the beginning of it all, I let a tab on my google chrome sit for an hour and when I go back to it everything starts to freeze.
One of the things what is really odd though, some days I don't have problems at all. Everything will run smoothly.

I reupdated my drivers from my cpu, gpu, motherboard, etc. I have run benchmarks what seems to be completely fine and it ran smoothly. Since I got my new upgrades I did get Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit.
And I have been running tests that burden my computer.

Is it possible my CPU is dying? (I already got it for around 3-4 years)
Or is it possible my power supply is having problems?

Thank you for reading:)

Edit:
Apperently restarting my pc helps, after playing 2-3 hours it starts lagging again.

Did you try looking into taskmanager while playing games to see whats happening to me sounds like something is hogging your cpu at a 100%. This is most likely software/driver related.

I did, and the only ones that were taking some of my cpu was the game itsself, skype and steam. That shouldn't be a big issue if I'm right :/ I have tried to close all of them down and see what happends, but it didn't help. Although when I'm lagging im at 100% disk usage, is that normal? I don't have that much knowledge about pc's :/

ill tell you a story ive expirienced acronis true image software for backups ive had installed had a driver running in background that whenever i plugged in a usb stick it blue screened my pc. a program you installed could be a problem or a driver conflict. my suggestion is to keep an eye on task manager and see whats taking up all the resources of your pc at certain points or a bad way would be fresh install of windows and no software whatsoever and just one game but dont do that its just silly. could be also a direct x or .netframework maybe idk :/

try asking on 8 forums thats what the forum is called. they are great at analysing your memory dumps to see whats causing the issues :)

edit: sorry im darkknigh_t just realised on taptalk im in my other account xD

Temps could be causing throttling. Check your temps with HW Monitor

Ty for the reply  ^_^

I'm going to reset my pc soon and download windows 8 again to make sure it's clean and then try again. I really checked my task manager while I was playing games and lagged, but nothing seemed to make my cpu usage at 100%.
A friend of mine checked also that has some more knowledge about pc's and cleaned my pc with ccleaner, reinstalled my drivers, virus scanner (wich I turn off while playing games), Directx and .netframework has also been reinstalled :/
Not sure but while playing metal gear rising or alan wake I played around this time seemed fine and no lag at all. It only seems to start lagging while playing online games like, LoL, WoW, Tera etc. Only my ms isn't dropping at all. It stays at the
10-20 ms :/..

Thank you I will post a thread on 8 forums :P

Something I want to say aswell is that my disk uasge jumps alot to 100% even when I'm not gaming, when I'm closing a tab that was open for a while it jumps to the 100%. I don't know if that's a problem?

That could be the problem while gaming online recieving and sending data your hdd is being used and then something is messing it up. My suggestion is to post on windows 8 forums those people are great. The key factor is your disk usage thats jumping so high which is lagging your games.

My guess is the hdd as well. Sounds like it's having trouble keeping up. Also, sometimes Diablo just lags when there's stuff on screen, it even does it to me with a 4670k @4ghz and 760gtx. Warcraft was famous for horde lag as well, when someone else popped into your area the game would lag.

Intel 4670K /w TT water 2.0 performer, GTX 1070FE, Gigabyte Z87X-DH3, Corsair HX750, 16GB Mushkin 1333mhz, Fractal R4 Windowed, Varmilo mint TKL, Logitech m310, HP Pavilion 23bw, Logitech 2.1 Speakers

Hmm, it is weird though cause I just got my HDD like 3 weeks ago now and I don't expect it to be broke or anything and if im right it should be keeping up if I'm right? 932GB Seagate ST1000DM003-1CH162 (SATA)

And the WoW lag, I'm not even able to heal properly, cause my game keeps having these major fps drops. I can't do anything for 10-20 sec, so it makes it extremely annoying to play :/
