has this happened to any other people with surround

kaylexmorgana

I'm sure this is only NVidia since their surround support is garbage compared to amd and I am sure when I get my 290x it will be fixed but for the time being....

I believe this started when I started using my display port since no matter what it wouldn't let me use a accessory display with it unless I used it.

everytime I start my computer it resets it to:

wEG75gT.png

which is horse shit since all I did was press the restart button even  restarting putting it back and restarting immediantly it still does it.

when the pc starts up 2 monitors are off.

I removed the display monitor to since it looked ugly with it.

bigger resolutions require more vram.......? amd does better in bigger resolutions?

3gbs is insufficient.....?

you do know the resolution isn't one monitor right?

when I restart my computer I have to keep redoing the surround so 2 monitors are off when I restart so I have to redo it

1 290x < 2 780s no matter what situation, the one gigabyte of extra vram won't make much of a difference especially not enough to upgrade.

First: keep your 780s more gpu processing power is what you need to drive more monitors (trust me i have three monitors too) also 3+3=6 not 3 you have 6 gigs of v ram "upgrading" to a 290x would be a downgrade

Second: I'm not too sure, make sure you apply the changes after their made or they wont work when you restart is all I can think of, other than that all three monitors should at least display something when you log into your pc

1? Where did you hear that? I Was getting 3 of them.

they are far far far cheaper as well

Not what I heard, I heard you should have a minimum of 4gbs when using multi monitors.

There is no 's' there to imply it being plural.

I'm guessing you're running 3 1080p monitors? Yeah in that case no, 3 290Xs won't make a difference compared to if you just bought another 780. I can run a triple monitor setup with my crossfire 280Xs, and yeah, performance isn't great in some games but that's not due to lack of vram but due to just lack of sheer horsepower.

We thought you were getting only one because you used the singular form of 290x not the plural form which would be 290x's

also yes v ram stacks

Edit: 3 290x's would be better but just save some money and get another 780 instead

why would I get 3 780's? I can basically get 4 290x's for that price?

Wut?

You already have two 780s so you'd only be buying one.

The cheapest 290X is $450 and your average 780 is $500

450*4= $1800

 $500*1=$500

$1800>$500

How is one more 780 equal to 4 290Xs?

I already bought one the other day for 406$

I don't buy retail since everything on ebay is cheaper and usually free shipping and NO taxes

bought my other 780's on ebay from non retailers and had no problems

$406*4+ $1624

$1624>$500

Still not seeing how that was cheaper.
