GPU PCB SAG!

Go to solution Solved by AlwaysFSX,

Unless it's major sag is fine. You can get fishing line or clear wire of it's that ugly.

Gday Guys,

TL;DR - does GPU sag have any major long term affects. Any getto solutions to combat GPU sag.

Im just wondering what might be the long term affects of PCB Sag on a GPU. I'm currently using a R9 280x with the NZXT Kraken G10. Originally i had my old backplate (from the asus cooler that was on it) on the PCB and that seemed to help allot. But because of my new MOBO layout, i cant use the back plate anymore (it collides with the ram slots). So now, i do get quiet a bit of sag. I have counteracted it a bit by using twist wire to anchor it to the radiator in my case, so it now looks pretty stable, but as you can probably tell its FUGGLY AS HELL!

Im just wondering if anyone has any getto solutions that might look a tad cleaner, also if the sag i originally had, and the slight sag i have now, is going to affect the overall life span of my card?

Cheers

Thats a really good idea, i didnt think of that! thanks :)

LEGO tower or anything under the GPU should be enough, something like this:

It tends to not be a serious issue.

A strategically placed chopstick works.

Ok good. I was getting worried as i have started to get some BSOD issues. Im in the process of trying to fix this thou, i made a post about it last night and MeesterJackson seems to think it might be a driver issue. Fingers crossed it is haha.

Cheers

Fishing line ehh, I thought nylon was conductive because of the prohibitation of fishing near overhead powerlines
