Well i'd run 2 way but performance wise im not sure also the r9 295x2 would make more sense on the AMD side than 2 r9 290's other than price.

It's almost the same, it's 4 nearly identical chips that you're running any way. But best value is 2x x80 cards. If you need 4 chips though, get 4 single chip cards IMO.

Is It better to run the GTX 90s in 2 way SLI or the GTX 80s in 4 way SLI ?attachicon.gifforum 1.jpgattachicon.gifforum 2.jpg

Quad SLI/crossfire degrades performance in every single game except Crysis 3 and Metro Last Light, I just googled some benchmarks, Don't do any of that, the most you would need is 3 80's in SLI, but many times it isn't better than two so it's just waste of money

It's better to stick with a single dual gpu card or sli two single gpu cards. 4 way sli/crossfire is stupid, at least for gaming.

scaling is almost 100% from the benchmarks i have seen (with 4 way).

Show me those benchmarks, the ones I've seen show almost no improvement from 3 to 4 way and only 40% ish increases from 2 to 3 way.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

well, if money  is no issue, and depanding on what setup you have.

Bi-GPU card allows you to have 4 gpu on 2pci-e slot motherboard, instead of looking for a 4 slot, the cards breath better, you can have a beast of a mini ITX pc....

crossfire/sli scalling is way better now, so you dont have alot of problemes, like 2-3years ago.

although in my opinion , the best perf/$ value is 3way crossfire/sli, you can get a bi-gpu + a single card to crossfire/sli.

if you  are going to buy a Bi-Gpu, you cant get the 590 with 1.5Go memory, or the 690 with 2Go of memory, with new generation of console, games are gonna use more and more memory, they have been for a awhile too, so if you want Nvidia Only, you have the GTX TitanZ, but honestly the card doesn't make any sens perf/$, i wouldn't advise this card to any gamer.

best Bi-Gpu perf/$ value, would be the AMD R9 295x2 , you can add to it another R9 290, for a tri fire, you have 4Go  or ram by Gpu, to even max settings at 4K, and have enough horse power to be constantly above 60fps in all games.

That's next to impossible. simply due to the PCIE bus not being able to handle it... Let alone the other dozen issues.

You can't Tri-SLI (eg no Titan Z w/ Titan Black in SLI)... Nvidia doesn't allow it. Also guys 2 double gpu cards is called QUADFIRE or Quad SLI. 4 way is 4xSingle gpu cards.

4 gtx 80 cards is better. they each have there own power delivery and more heatsink surface area per gpu.

4 way sli as in 4 780s usually isn't worth it. Every card that is added in sli the performance goes down. And what i mean is the performance doesn't scale that well. 2 way sli scales around ~90% depending on games and benchmarks etc. IIRC 3 way vs 4 way sli is only ~10% if that. 3 way is the most i would go but i don't think i will ever run 3 cards. The power consumption and fps gain is not worth the extra money. Personally id probably go with the 790... or 2 780s/titan blacks.

My profile pic is the game i'm currently playing. I hope i remember to change it..
