I want to build a budget AMD rig. The motherboard that is really cheap is the MSI 970 Gaming, and i will put an 8320 on it. I am not going to do any crazy overclock maybe 4.4Ghz will the 970 chipset do this overclock well?

Yeah, you should be fine.

can't seem to find any info's about the CPU power delivery on this but from the pictures it sure looks great!

I cannot seem to find this board for sale anywhere... newegg, amazon, NCIX, tomshardware, etc.   Where have you found this?

Oor just save up and keep your CPU at stock clocks till you can buy like a 4690k? Success

Giga saves the day again ladies and gentelmen.

Emmh... Maybe consider killing yourself before you talk to me?

He said he wanted a BUDGET AMD build, not spend more money and do intel, thats the total opposite, so no, Giga did not save the day again ladies and gentlemen.

If I were you I'd go right now into biosand disable turbo and even downvolt the cpu as much as I can,you have the worst possible am3+ motherboard, that motherboard can not handle the cpu alone, let alone overclock. you're seeing that because the motherboard is throttling the cpu. I have a 990XA-UD3 rec 4.0 with a 8320 cooled by a 212 evo push/pull,I'm running 4.4ghz stock voltage and the system is solid as a rock, been running like this for some months.

Yeah! i was also amazed that MSI shows the new AM3+ gaming motherboard.

...and mostly the fact that it's based on the 970 chipset and not the 990FX...and yet they managed to have a 970 board with PCIE 2.0 @ 16x / 8X for 2 way crossfire AND SLI support!

Msi must have realised that there was money to be made there as there are not many ''good'' motherboard on the 970 chipset, both ASUS and Gigabyte has one solid offering each but nothing like this

sexy as hell gaming motherboard that support 2 way SLI! :D

Sli configuration most likely being pcie express 2.0 at 8x/8x i would not SLI very high end GPU's on this but for say 2x GTX 770 4GB this board would be perfect...only missing is a CPU good enough to power such

a GPU setup! :P..let's say GTX 760 4GB SLI just to be safe!

Now has to be proven the quality of the power delivery system on this board...hope they used top quality VRM's and mosfets..if anyone can find informations about the phases on this board please drop it in here..

well...from my experience the UD3P was awesome really...and the M5A97 EVO is only a 6+2 board and cost more..i dont know but personaly i recommand the UD3P...

UD3P uses phase doublers though doesn't it? I own both the EVO and UD3P and overclocks were pretty much identical. But the EVO had a MUCH better UEFI.

But OP you left turbo on and as said please don't overclock with that motherboard unless you're a pyrotechnic.

I assume MSI used a PLX chip to rewire 4x and 1x lanes into 8x?

Not seen that yet will have to have a look.

Wow! Great find!

MSi might be on to something here.

I agree with you.

They must have done something to re-map the PCI-E lanes.

It would be fantastic if they could beef up the VRM and SB cooling on the board......but we'll need to see some review analysis.

UPDATE: According to MSIRawZ (guy who works for MSi), the MSRP for the board is going to be £72.99.

£72.99 is the MSRP.

Runs @ x8 / x8 when both slots are occupied.

Expansion slots include two PCI-Express 2.0 x16 (x8/x8 when both are populated)...

It might perform better if you have absolutely NOTHING running in the backround.

Those 2 hyper threading cores doesn't support games do they keep up with te stud in the background

And the 2 physical cores = in 8320's all 8 cores.

4330 gets about 5 more FPS inflame than a 6300

Show me proof that the 4330 gets 5 more fps in almost every game tested and I will believe you, but until then, the 4330 will not overpower even the fx-4350. And also, the 4330 is more expensive then the fx-4350 and the fx-6300..

Cost as much here and I've got them both but only mobo for intel as I have noneed for CPU's that doesn't perform well

Yea but you have to buy a cooler for it.

No, both the fx-4350 and the fx-6300 come with a cooler.  Do some research would ya?

You better be trolling, cpu doesn't come with a heatsink?Where do you live? And you bought both cpus but no motherboard for the am3+ cpu? Please enlighten me why would you do that? and you say it doesn't perform well, please explain why you bought it then. Why don't you show us the cpu?

I sold the mobo, I bought the 6300 on it's release date and no it didn't come with a cooler, you could have bought it with but without is cheaper, you can't find AMD CPU's in the stores here and no store that has them online recommend them.
