Yes of course I live in Nigeria, I sold the mobo, I bought the 6300 on it's release date and no it didn't come with a cooler, you could have bought it with but without is cheaper, you can't find AMD CPU's in the stores here and no store that has them online recommend them.

"If it doesn't perform well explain why you bought it then" no just no.

Lmfao this guy cracks me up. So you just bought the 6300 without a heatsink cause it was cheaper right?Epic Logic, how did you run it on that motherboard, obviously it must have been liquid nitrogen, right!? Well? Why can't you explain why you bought it?Post a screenshot with the cpu and your username on a piece of paper please so we can see it. After I see that we can go back to our discussion of how a i3 is better than a 8320. hahahaha.

In my bios I overclocked my 8320 to 4200MHz, it booted up fine and I went to go into CPU-Z and that is saying I'm only running at 3700MHz. Everything else in the bios is set to auto. My motherboard is the Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 and my CPU cooler is the cooler master hyper 212 evo. I also noticed my temperature barely changed. It only went up a few degrees and is still around 20°c. I always thought overclocking greatly changed your temperatures. I just want to know if I'm doing something wrong or if its my motherboard.. Thanks!

lol at all the BS on this post just arguing over which CPU is better

If it was me I wouldn't overclock a 8320 to massive heights at all. I'd overclock it to stock 8350 speeds to get a free upgrade, but I wouldn't go higher then that. 8320s are heavily binned parts. They work properly at stock speeds and a little bit above, but not much else.

Yeah i have my 8320 at 4.2 right now at stock voltages until I get a new mobo.

For recommending a chip that won't bottleneck a 610?

An fx-6300 and an fx-8320 wont even come close to bottlenecking a 610... I would like to find any cpu that would.

keep it at stock 3.5 and set the voltage to 1.25v and stress test it while watching cpu-z voltage and see wether it goes up or down, you want to try and keep it around 1.25, if its higher drop loadline calibration to 0% or "low" or whatever setting you have.

me and a friend currently have my 8320 in his m5a78l-m/usb3 (pretty much the same) and its underclocked to 3ghz (to be compared to his athlon x4 640) with 1.1875v in bios with 3% LLC and 1.26v in cpu-z under load and it peaks at 58*c under load on the stock cooler with the fan profile set to 0% minimum, 70% maximum  :D so its not a buzzsaw.

pretty surprised.

you should still get a board like the gigabyte 970a-ud3p because thats the cheapest board (about £65/$99) with an 8+2 vrm, ive been running 4.6 for a while (though not exactly needed..) and even managed to boot at 5ghz

but for now just see how low you can get the voltage and reduce speed if necessary, you wont notice any performance difference anyway in decent games.

edit-for clarity its all about power draw, your vrms cant handle too much power so reduce voltage (clock speed doesnt matter as much) and your vrms will gain more and more breathign room, performance difference will be minimal if at all.

Easy to find CPU's that'll bottleneck a 610, I probably have 3-4 at home

Emmh... Maybe consider killing yourself before you talk to me?

Why tf would I want to underclock it? My mobo can handle my cpu just fine at stock voltages. And temperatures arent a problem.. I have a cooler master hyper 212 evo with push/pull and i get around 20 degrees Celsius with my oc.
