When building a system everyone recommends that you build it outside your case first to see if it boots and works. So during this test should you install the CPU cooler or can you leave it off?

Install cooler (stock one) outside of the case too. It also makes a great object to hold in order to manipulate the board into the case.

If you could read there was nothing ever said about installing the cpu only if one should install the cooler or not when testing outside a case.

Never start a pc up without a cooler, Also I never bother building a pc outside the case, Just messier as i'd rather have the board screwed down as it's easier to work on the rest and also saves a lot of time
