Hi!

I need a upgrade, starting fresh. I am looking into buying some new headsets for gaming, I mainly play fps like battlefield.

Some simple requirements:

-comfort

-5.1/7.1 surround (I know it is virtual and not 'true surround" but its still nice to have it)

-Price range is 50-60$, maybe even 70$ if they are well recommended. I am buying from amazon

Thanks Guys!

To love is to risk not being loved in return. To hope is to risk pain. To try is to risk failure, but risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

Do you need the integrated mic, or would you be cool with a second wire running to your PC?

Also, FYI, you can use Razer Surround for free virtual surround. :)

Edit: wow, ninja'd

Do you have to get a gaming headset? Would a pair of nice headphones and a clip on mic work as well? You'll get better quality out of your purchase that way. You can also use Razer Surround or DFX for the virtual surround.

I am fine with that method, but it will also just be nice to have a all-in-one no bs package.

If I were to use the Logitech G230 Stereo headset into a 7.1 sound card, could it deliver virtual surround out of the box without razer surround? I don't think so, but it doesn't hurt to confirm.

Quote if you can so people can get back to you faster. Also, depending on the sound card it might have software that can do surround already. If not i think Razer surround works with soundcards, not external DAC and AMPs tho. Or at least with my Fiio it doesn't.

I did quote. I multi-Quoted. Thanks for the info. I guess I should just get a good mouse and wait to see what deals they have in July 4th, if they do at all.

Headsets are the BS part. They sound like $20 headphones but cost $60, $70, or $80.
