eGPU! external gpu

hi guys i got a lenovo x201 laptop and im thinking of makin my own egpu, so should i use a Nvidia gpu or a amd gpu? Nvidia gpu`s tend to be better when using them in a 1x config than amd`s gpus in 1x so can you guys help me decide? im using a expresscard 54 with pci e 2.0

Really wont make much difference as the only limiting factor will be the 1x

 

I suggest picking up the cheapest GPU like a 7770 since anything more will just be utterly wasted

do you have experience with egpu?

me and my friend tested a gtx 780 on his laptop and we had like two or three less fps than in his gaming rig wih 16x

well um no not in norway somethin that costs 60$ in the us costs 110$ only with taxes not mentioning the shipping

 @NORSKPERSON Get a Gtx 750 (Ti only if you can stretch it) it's basically the strongest gpu you can get w/o external power

 Ah, well gl, have no idea if the 1x 2nd gen pcie slot will bottleneck that or not.
