Do you guys ever purchase used components?

I ask because when I built my rig, my first, I made several compromises that if I were to do it today, I wouldn't have done.  One example of the kind of thing I mean, I bought too much PSU, but also it's non-modular.  I'd live with it being 750w in a system that can live on 500w, but the non-modular part of it is killing me as every time I have to go in and dust I have problems with where to put the stupid excess cabling I don't use.

I guess my question really is, if I were to buy a new PSU would I have trouble selling the old one?  Is there a market for used components and if so is it worth it?  There are a handful of little things like that, like I also have a bunch of Corsair SP fans which I used for a month before realizing I needed AF for what I needed.  I overspent on this build because I didn't find this site until after I built it.  I used a different site which I won't name but suffice it to say, sucks.

Thanks in advance,

I bought many used PC parts. There are however some parts which i NEVER buy used:

PSU

Mobo (depending on condition)

Headphones

If i do buy a/some PC parts i ALWAYS go to their home to test it first.

So I'd be better off with Craigslist than Ebay in most cases, sell locally.

Having a spare PSU can be a blessing, I say just keep it :D

Well it's more than just the PSU really, I have a H80i I ended up hating because of the pump noise so I went to air cooling with a Noctua, as I would have done in the first place being that I find myself not one to overclock and watercooling is really made for overclocking.  Would have saved 20 bucks on the chip if I could go back and do it again, which I can't.  *shrug*

Things I will buy used:

-Motherboard if less than 2 years old

-Graphics card if ran for less than a year, and if it was ran like ass (for example mining or folding) it'll have to be at least 75% off

-PSUs if less than 5 years old

-SSDs that ran for less than a year

-RAM that is verified to work, no time limit

-CPUs that are verified to work, as long as the seller can tell me what the max overclock is, no time limit

Of course, if it's not the right item at a very good price (at least 50% off) I'm not interested.

Things I will never buy used:

-Mechanical HDDs

-Anything water cooling related

-Cases (people very often treat their cases like crap, and the average Joe also has pretty bad taste in cases - even the enthusiast average Joe)

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

Exactly. In my country craigslist is called willhaben :)

Some ebay sellers may also allow you to inspect the product before buying it.

Never bought a used part for my PC and don't intend to.  I don't really trust them and would prefer to save up and pay for something that is unused.

I think the safest components to buy that are used are RAM, GPU and monitors :)

As long as the monitor has no dead pixels
