I am building a new PC for myself and I don't no which motherboard to pick. I will be using an AMD FX 6300 CPU which is an AM3+ CPU. It needs to have 4 RAM slots and compatibility for 16gb of RAM. It must have USB 3.0 and SATA 6. Lastly it must be a micro-ATX board. Thanks.

Most boards will have 4 slots, USB 3 and Sata 6. The Micro ATX part will be the issue. There arent any that will support that CPU the way it is supposed to be. It will either be on an old chipset, not have enough/proper power phases, or lack proper VRM cooling and have throttling issues.

You could try the ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3. Has 6 sata, 4 DDR 3 slots , and am3+ socket. Pretty cheap too.

mATX boards for AM3+ are trash

 

you need to get at least a 970 based chipset ATX board

With the specifications you are giving us to find a motherboard four you, you can use http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/motherboard/ to find some for you instead.

 

Just use the settings on the right panel of the website to slim down the options to find the perfect 1 4 u

I would personally get an ATX board since you won't be able to overclock on an MATX board due to limited phases as @Priller mentioned (it may be able to run it at stock speeds though as there is support for the FX6300 (ex. MSI 760GMA-P34 (FX) ). I would at least get a 970 chipset board such as the Asus M5A97 R2.0/Asus M5A97 R2.0 EVO (depending on availability).

asus m5a78l-m/usb3 if you want matx and sata2 3gb/s, held a phenom2 x4 B55 (unlocked) overclocked to 3.6ghz and sometimes 4ghz stable for several months so you CAN overclock on it just watch the voltages. you wont get the most out of an ssd but its good for a compact mATX build.

gigabyte 970a-ud3p if you dont mind full ATX and want sata3 6gb/s (for SSD's) and a 8+2 vrm for balls to the walls overclocking though not nessesary for a 6300 per-se only £15 more.

HAVE both boards, wouldnt go for anything else.(see sig for details)

Thought he wanted a motherboard with SATA 6gb/s not one with SATA 3GB/s so I don't think that matx board would work for him. @OP correct me if I am wrong about this.
