2x R9 280's Performance Expectations?

I'm buying a gaming pc soon (Case just ordered!) with this parts list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/WhitePhoenix0/saved/tP8j4D

I know there's mixed opinion about CrossfireX/SLI, but this build has room for another graphics card. I'm curious just how much of a performance increase to expect from adding a second Msi R9 280. I've done research and the resolution it will run in my pc is 1080p, and I'm expecting about 50ish FPS in most games on ultra. (Info from Tek Syndicates review of the card) I've looked around and haven't seen much info on CrossfireX with this card. How much do you think it will help? Also I know my build is missing and optical drive.

This is my first pc build, and I'm on a budget. I'm looking towards crossfire because I can add it later, when I have the money.

Sounds pretty good though with those expectations.

Oh, I thought you were going to go with Crossfire right out of the gate. 280 will be fine. It performs better than the GTX 760.

Note - 7970 + 7950 (280x+280)

You'll see the stats in the corner show the 7970 performs @ 90-95% to match the 95-100% of the 7950, obviously to keep them in sync.

If you can manage overclocking and stability then both cards @ 1000-1100mhz should really shine some great performance.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Alright this seems like crossfire will be worth it in the future.

As the 280 is the 7950 and the 280x is the 7970.

Just google "7950 crossfire review"  or "7970 crossfire review" and you'll get good results.

TTL's OC3D's youtube channel has some great 7970 & 7950 reviews that I've seen in the past (even dedicated overkill 4x crossfire video's and comparisons)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
