"Reference" is the design nvidia originally intended for a card. Nvidia intended the 780 to have 3gb vram, hence a 6gb version can't be reference by definition. Therefore no, only msi and evga do that currently. An 8gb version would make no sense whatsoever (in fact even 6gb is more than will ever be saturated before the processor becomes obsolete).

reference = 3 GB, 6 GB != reference.

Did you try it with mods? I've had some amazing drifting sessions with all the modded cars and engines.
