So, i found these headphones on sale, and i currently have the money to buy them, so my questions are:

- Are they good for that price (in dollars it would be around 33$~)

- Will they be good enough (atleast better than my Canyon earbuds) in louder environments like busses, loud streets...?

I'll be buying a new phone very soon (i hope i'll have it before this month ends, because the carrier currently doesn't have it in stock), so i though about buying new headphones for it O.o

If anybody needs me to translate something, i'll gladly do it :D

P.S. It seems i can't link anything, so i'll just post the URL of the site :)

I haven't had experiences with those headphones.

For loud environments a pair of closed headphones is the best way to go.

The Superlux HD661 can be usually be found for cheap, they are a decent pair of cans to get for the right price.

Sadly that manufacturer is not available in my country :(

This is the page on the site for headphones, so which ones do you think are best for around 3.500 - 4.000 RSD O.o

Looking for headphones, right? I got nothing on that list. All of them are not familiar to me. Any Audio Technica in your country, maybe on another site?

Yeah, there are Audio Technica, but they're hellishly expensive (I've been wanting ATH M50x for some time now, but it's way too expensive)...

The cheapest ones are T200, and they're right on the 4.000 RSD mark... Are they any good O.o

I was gonna suggest the ATH-TAD300 http://www.amazon.com/Technica-ATH-TAD300-Dynamic-Headphones-Import/dp/B005TCZIH4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1403295881&sr=8-1&keywords=audio+technica+tad+300

I've had that one, and for a $30 headphone, it certainly outperforms its price. Any way to get any of these?

No, sadly there aren't, but are these ones good O.o

I can stretch my budget that much (i can stretch it actually a lot more, but i need the money for new speakers...), and if i order them online, and just go to pic them to the shop, that red price applies... But i never did that...

Never tried that too.

From that site, I found this, which is often recommended: http://www.winwin.rs/pc-periferije-monitori/slusalice-i-mikrofoni/slusalice-pioneer-se-a1000-1500mw-1157264.html These should be just around $50, but I guess the price went up high there.

Other that I've tried and sound decent (remember, decent and enjoyable, not good), are the Audio Technica M20 and M30:

http://www.winwin.rs/pc-periferije-monitori/slusalice-i-mikrofoni/dinamicke-slusalice-sa-neodimijum-magnetima-audio-technica-ath-m20x-crna-9169-1191882.html

They both got above average quality vs price value.

Out of those 2, I'd say get the M20x. They sound pretty much the same, so you can save a bit of money there.

Wait2, you're saying they have a physical shop, right? Any chance they have demo units for customers testing? If they do, that's your best option. Go there, and try out various headphones, and get the one that you like the most.

That particular shop doesn't have headphones for customer testing (i've shopped there quite a few times, so i know) :(

Also, i just might get those pioneer (i had my eye on them until i decided to get some new speakers), so let me ask these questions:

- If i bought them, that would automatically mean i wouldn't be buying new speakers, so i'd use them for long periods of time. Now, all over the ear headphones i used started hurting my ears after around 2-3 hours (of course, padding on those headphones is... bad), so would i be able to wear them for around 6+ hours (my usual computer time), without my ears hurting O.o

- Also, where is price to performance (something i always look at before buying anything), M20x or Pioneer SE-A1000 O.o

Personally I've never tried the Pioneer, but heard (or read) good things about them, and they are often recommended in this forum. I think @ShearMe had one, and he wrote a review on those. Mentioned him, just wait for him to drop by....

Meanwhile, kill some times with his writing here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/70517-comparison-pioneer-se-a1000-vs-audio-technica-ath-ad500x/ :)

About comfortability, I think as long as it's not too hot inside the cups, or the headband is so tight it gives you headache, should be fine. Our body will adapt and adjust to it. For example, I'm using a HE400, which weighs 440g (that's almost half a kg!!). First few days were half a living hell. It's so heavy, and clamping force is very tight, but what can I say, I love the sound. Later on, after 1-2 weeks, I've adjusted to it, now I can wear it gaming for hours on....

I've used those Pioneers and after about 3 hours, the grainy cloth pads got to me. If grainy pads don't affect you, then they are super comfortable and should last 6 hours. That is the best headphone I saw but you can always take a chance at those cheaper white pioneers you linked. It's pioneer so it should be decent. I'm not sure about how comfortable they are though since they look on ear and not over ear.

Maybe give the OP a walkthrough to the review.... :D

It's a nice review :D

So, i've been looking into some other sites that sell peripherals, and i saw these beauties :D

http://www.tehnomanija.rs/slusalice/sony-bezicne-slusalice-mdr-rf865rk.html

They're the same price as Pioneer SE - A1000, but they're wireless, so do you know anything about the sound quality  O.o

Also, will they work with phones (especially since i'm planning on getting a Sony phone :D) O.o

P.S. I just love it that they're wireless, but i don't know if that affects the sound quality in any big way O.o

EDIT: Or do you think i could use a 3,5 mm cable to connect them to the phone O.o

Wirless lowers sound quality because it has to compensate for bandwidth limitations, interference, delay and so on. Plus, for the money, you're getting less headphone because part of the cost has to go towards the wireless capability.

That said I know nothing about those particular wireless headphones. Balance of probability is that they aren't worth it, though.

The review were done by the guy 4 posts above this post, so you can ask him further questions if you want :)

I never have considered wireless, simply because I don't need that wireless feature, which is the main advantage. Just remember this: you pay roughly 25%-50% of the price for the wireless feature. Let's say there is a $100 wireless headphone. $25-$50 goes to the wireless feature, leaving the headphone in the $50-$75 class, not $100 class headphone.

Wireless sends digital data through radio frequency (RF) that got limited bandwidth, so they often compress the data first. Another thing is, wireless headphones got their own DAC chip built in the headphone, and it's fixed till it's dead. Meaning, say someday you're going for a big upgrade, and wanna get a few thousand dollar worth of external DAC, well you can't use it with the wireless headphone, because you can't bypass its built-in DAC as long as it's used wireless-ly.

Then there is the battery problem. You gotta keep it charged to be able to use it, and someday it will deteriorate up to the point it won't hold any charge anymore.

As long as the transmitter got analog 3,5mm plug, then yes, you can use it with mobile phone (or any other devices with 3,5mm jacks), but I wouldn't say that it's mobile. You gotta bring that bulky receiver everywhere, and maybe a power cord/extension with you to be able to use it outside...

-snip-

That makes a lot of sense, thanks :D

I read some reviews on Amazon, and they're mostly positive :)

I didn't really pay attention to wireless headsets, but this one got it. It would be very useful because i can't even count how many times someone told me to do something while i had my headphones one... i had to take them off, go do that, and put them on again -_- At first i thought of getting headsets with changeable cables, but this also looks quite good :D

Also, my friend/classmate got Sony bluetooth headsets when he bought his Z1, and sound on them is pretty good good (at the least better than my current 7$ headphones...), and people did say that these ones have pretty good sound quality...

I also fully agree with you on battery, that's one of my main concerns, but if i don't over charge it, it should be okay O.o

@ShearMe - Do those Pioneer SE - A1000 have a changeable cable O.o Since that's pretty much a deal breaker at this point

Also, what do you think about keeping my current Canyon Cnr-ep8m, buying these and then in a few months buying better on ear headphones for the phone in few months O.o

Sorry for asking all these questions, but my knowledge on headphone and other audio stuff is almost non-existent...

Changeable cables adds to the price too, so you gotta be ready to shell out extra money on that feature. Take a look at M50 vs M50x, which is middle level to say the least. M50 without changeable cable is $120, while M50x, the exact same thing but with changeable cable, is $170 (amazon.com price)

About those bluetooth headsets, compare them head to head with a decent middle level up (or simply just wired headphones at the same price level as the headset), and most probably you'll hear the difference immediately.

To keep it realistic, you gotta live with some trade-offs.

- Wireless won't sound as good as wired in the same price range

- Portable headphones usually don't sound as good as those big bulky headphones

- Portable headphones that do sound good, won't be cheap. V moda M100 is an example of a fairly good portable headphone

That's just the way it is.

There's an anecdote my friend said, portable, sounds good, cheap price. You could only get to pick one, or two if you're lucky, but never all three...

No removable cable. :(

I'm going to say, just go ahead and get a bluetooth headset. The convenience of having no wires will be way more important for the use-case you're describing. I've got a pair myself for certain situations because I'd rather have slightly lesser sound quality than nothing at all. You can always buy a nicer wired headphone in the future after saving up some more money if you really want supreme audio quality.

It doesn't really add cost, it's just more of a coincidence that few cheap headphones have a removable cable. The Monoprice 108323 and many Superlux headphones have removable cables.

The cost itself wouldn't be too much to add a removable cable, let alone in mass productions. At the very max, it will add $5-$10 top to the production cost (new moulding production cost calculated). It's some of the companies that like to add a bit too much to the MSRP for that extra feature, like the M50 vs M50x. But yeah, maybe just in special cases like that, because they're a bit overhyped and one of the best selling...

So, today i bought the headphones...

I went out with my father to buy them, and when we arrived, and i showed him which one i want, he said they were too expensive to buy (it's my savings, but he can veto my decisions... :( ). So he said to me to buy headphones up to 4000 RSD, and after asking the shop assistant to try them with my phone, i tried them, and i saw that Sony XD150B... I know that they're cheap, but when i tried a few of them, i saw that they (Sony) were the best for the kind of music i listen to.

- The sound was loud, which is a big plus for me

- They had pretty crisp sound on the music i usually listen to

-  And they music had some kind of "depth" when i listened to it (i'm a noob with audio stuff, but i'll try to learn :D)

- They also were over the ear, which also was a plus :D

And an added bonus is that i have 9500 RSD leftover :D

After using them for a while, i'll try to write a review :D

So, do you think i was wrong with choosing these ones for that price bracket: This is the site

I'm not sure what headphones you're talking about, but if it was cheap, and you like it, then there's really nothing to complain about. :)

That's the list of headphones up to 4000 RSD :D

And yes, so far i like them :D There are a few flaws (nothing is perfect, atleast for now :D), but that can easily be solved :D

I bought these ones :D

This is also good, because now i know what to look for in headphones :D

I still have a lot of leftover money, so i'll use it somewhere else (might buy new speakers or a new SSD, o who knows what :D We'll see :D)

As long as you like it, then the problem is solved. There's nothing wrong with that. Sony produce good products, that although they can't penetrate the higher end levels, their lower-middle level products are quite good.

If you want to dig deeper and do some exercise on your ears, I highly recommend you try the Philips Golden Ears Challenge. Just google it. It's fun and will broaden your knowledge....
