My friend recently restored his windows 7 ultimate to factory settings because he wanted to have a fresh start on his system. Once done, he set everything up and it was working fine, except for one thing, the pc does not allow him to connect to his home network.

He uses a standard ethernet cable to connect to his router but the pc does not seem to realize that he ever plugged it in. If anyone can give us some help in fixing this, it would be great.

Thanks in advance

You need to download the LAN drivers for his specific motherboard. If he built the PC the motherboard came with a disc with the drivers on it. If it was pre built, you will need to use a second computer to download the drivers for that motherboard on to a USB drive and then install it on his PC using the USB.
